There are...

...days until Michigan football begins again. That means we are only...

Saturdays away from spending the day doing what we really want to do. Watch Michigan win. Go Blue!!!

I miss Anthony Carter even more.

IMHO, AC was both the most impactful player AND the greatest receiver in the last 50 years of Michigan Football.  He literally changed the way Bo coached football and ushered the passing game into Bo's offensive philosophy.   If not for the legacy of Anthony, how many of the great receivers (and QB's) that followed would have worn the Winged Helmet?

I feel sorry for anyone who didn't witness football at The Big House during the Carter era.  There was a otherwise unseen and unheard-of buzz that took over Michigan Stadium any time AC took the field, any time he went back to receive a punt or kickoff, any time took off on the reverse, and especially any time he streaked down the field as the intended receiver, even when double-covered.   When the ball was in AC's hands you just knew good things were about to happen!

I would put Anthony right up there with Denard as the most beloved players in Michigan Football History.

I wish I could spake to him. I would say " hey Mike remember that time you called MSU little brother".? I just want you to know that was really stupid. Then I'd ask " Mike how does it feel to play for UM for 4 years and not beat OSU of MSU even one time ? sure miss him, miss him a lot.

I will bring the boat. I have like 400 different fishing rods. Bait casters. Spinning reels.
We'll fish for walleye and pike early in am and late in the evening. Smallies between 10 and 5. Gotta have high skies. Blue bird day for them small jaws tho especially on the bay.
Oh god. And nothing more than 10 mph winds. ;).
Let's do this.

Oh, I don't know - the fact that July happens to be my birth month sort of salvages it for me, but yeah, it is a rather slow sports month, especially if you're not a baseball person. I happen to like baseball rather a lot, so that helps too. Still, it can be a grueling month on MGoBlog unless you enjoy discussing what you're reading right at that moment.

We do have Harbaugh moments hopefully upcoming, of course. He never sleeps, or so it seems.

I realize nothing is going to change, but my god I hate these threads...at least wait until we're 99 days and in.

Carry on though, I'm not going to get butthurt about it. I know, "DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!"

Mike Hart. I so very overly-competent with the ball in his hand. He wasn't overly fast...but he never fumbled and he always gained yards. Picked the right hole. Hard to bring down.

for Detroit, though---they just beat the Astros 5-3 and now have won 7 of their first 10 games. Not only are they 7-3, but they're doing it against top teams such as the Astros, Pirates, and Yanks, playing well at home and on the road.

A potent lineup and solid starting pitching have impressed, but the real key has been great relief pitching.

As long as Ausmus doesn't get in the way, this team could be really really good.

I've got Woodson, Desmond, Denard & AC at the top of the pile together. All such unique & special athletes. Tons of great wolverines but these guys all seem to have superpowers.
