President Obama at UM commencement
The prestige capital of UM is high. When I got my BS in '07 we had Bill Clinton. Now, getting my Master degrees, we're gonna have Obama. BALLIN'!

Edit: FAIL
Still ballin', though

Excellent
February 11th, 2010 at 9:04 PM ^
Wow. I've never seen someone post something else that's already on the first page (not simultaneously).
February 11th, 2010 at 9:27 PM ^
Really though, anyone have an extra ticket to help a brother out?
February 11th, 2010 at 10:52 PM ^
...please sell it at face value to a Michigan fan. It disgusts me to see Ohio State fans at commencement sitting in the student section.
February 12th, 2010 at 2:25 AM ^
Sell it at face value? You mean give away for free, since nobody pays for graduation tickets.
if this was sarcasm.... then well played sir.
As an aside, what would prevent somebody from donning their old cap and gown and stripping off the year marker on the tassel and attending graduation again. Nothing? Good, I'll show up 30 minutes late and get a seat in the front row.

Yes, indeed, it was a blend of excitement, being in class, and a nasty cold that resulted in this double-post
I actually checked the page but, somehow, reading "President Obama to give 2010 Commencement Address" did not actually register in my brain
That said, I have no regrets

I don't want Obama anywhere near U of M.
February 11th, 2010 at 9:44 PM ^
I don't want dubya, palin, or any-other GOP puppet anywhere the university. So we are even.
February 11th, 2010 at 11:25 PM ^
Calm down people, it's almost Friday.
February 12th, 2010 at 12:34 PM ^
...with posts like these? Give us a chance!
February 11th, 2010 at 11:16 PM ^
To bad U of M is considered a very liberal university. Have a nice night watching Glen Beck in your underwear.

I can understand your dislike of Bush, and Palin. But really no Repubs allowed?
February 11th, 2010 at 10:02 PM ^
Only if the YAF clowns wear their tinfoil hats
February 11th, 2010 at 10:09 PM ^
No politics fuckers.
February 11th, 2010 at 10:21 PM ^
Why did Obama not play on any organized teams other than ACORN??
Because he couldn't produce a valid birth certificate to determine how old he was!
February 12th, 2010 at 12:16 AM ^
Not the least of which that it is well known (well, by non idiots) that he played college basketball.
February 11th, 2010 at 10:19 PM ^
So you're saying we can't talk about politics on the thread started about the president?
February 12th, 2010 at 11:28 AM ^
The thread isn't about the President. It's about UM's commencement speaker, who happens to be the President. There's a difference.
February 11th, 2010 at 10:23 PM ^
Pretty amazing people would have an issue with a sitting President being commencement speaker. Grow up. He's the President.
February 11th, 2010 at 10:28 PM ^
I'm just curious if hes bringing in more than Clinton did.
February 12th, 2010 at 2:27 AM ^
I dunno, he's a sitting president. I think he might do it for free, but we're probably paying tons of money for the extra security.
February 11th, 2010 at 11:39 PM ^
Is there any truth to the rumors that commencement will be nationally televised at night and that he'll be wearing a maize robe?
February 12th, 2010 at 10:25 AM ^
this is great for the University and the students to have the sitting POTUS speak at commencement, regardless of your politics.
I was fortunate enough to have GHWB (Bush 41) address my commencement and it is an unforgettable experience.
