Songs That Embody Michigan Football (Besides Hail to the Victors)
I was hoping that I could get some help from the very knowledgeable MGO Board with a little problem I have. A friend/co-worker of mine and I are trying to find songs that embody what UM football is all about, but we have gotten stuck and are struggling to think of more. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and Go Blue!

"Started at the bottom now we're here"
This is a very short term view of michigan football.
* EDIT: Strange. On the app, this is in reply to a ghost comment. Makes more sense than on the desktop.
Above. You can't go wrong with classic Michigan songs like "Yellow and Blue" and "Varsity".
The Yellow and Blue is, of course, our alma mater. Varsity is a classic Michigan football song.
other Michigan songs not specific to football include Go Blue; Tis of Michigan We Sing; I Want To Go Back To Michigan; The Hymn; The University; and Memories of Michigan.
sang all these and more in glee club back in the day.
Lots of great suggestions. Thank you!
I know I'll be laughing soon.
What was the song that had a whole movement a couple of years ago? It was so close to becoming a thing but just didn't materialize. That song?

And unite
I believe.
The movement was a kid and his dad or something.
If you seek an elusive movement, look about your shoulder.
My bowels had more movement than that song
we all live in a yellow (maize) submarine...

"Baby's Got Back", Sir Mix-A-Lot.

One of the best versions, with the Seattle Symphony....
Pay special attention to the brunette in the black dress with glasses - classic.
36-24-36? Shiiit only if she's 5'3
I had never seen this before. Everything about it is beautiful and made my day. Thank you for posting.
Michigan football? Firework-Katy Perry
Anything from the Spin Doctors.

Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
Yellow and Blue, Varsity and even though it's not truly Michigan, Can't Turn You Loose. Add in the Victors and I can listen to that on repeat all day long
Livin' On A Prayer- Bon Jovi.
I was thinking along the lines of "I feel like a woman" - Shania Twain

Neg bang me! BOOM!
Hard to neg beer & sports loving chicks
I would have neg'd that for sure..
Temptation and Hawaiin war chant are classic band songs.

Just to clarify, the songs don't have to be directly related to the University or football program itself, but it is preferred that they are.
Anything dad rock related
signed, Special K
to the Jungle
but it's "the Victors." : )
But yeah, Temptation and Hawaiian War Chant are awesome. My daughter grew up with those songs and now it's a struggle to find the original CD anywhere--so I gave her our only copy with those--which I bought at Moe's in the 80s.
I imagine everyone in her dorm is saying "what the hell is that?"
Well the reason why I said besides The Victors is because it was what instantly came to our minds and was the first song we thought of.
I guess you get it, but I was gently kidding you for including "Hail to" in the title. As we all know, it's simply "the Victors."
That said, I'm still angry about not getting that radio controlled P-51 when I was 9. I asked you very, very nicely. Can you please do something about that? I bet those are pretty badass now.
Sorry I didn't get you that P-51. I was probably worrying about running out of gas on the way to your house, and had to go to the nearest gas station to refill. Thus in the process forgetting about your present. Sorry :(
Not "December, 1963 (Oh What a Night)", unfortunately.
I have a soft spot for the Better Daughter/Son song that was in a couple fan made highlight videos back in the bad old days. That was actually kind of a cool time to be a Michigan fan because you knew that everyone still rocking the Block M was true Blue and there was a lot of optimism going around.
In the house!
I was gonna say that as well. One of the most beautiful hype videos ever produced. Captured the spirit of the fan base at the Time perfectly.

I was gonna post the same thing. I really loved those highlight videos. I think the days of that song working for us are behind us, though.
The first 50 seconds of this song - the "Blues Brothers"....
For the last few years, this is always played between the 3rd and 4th quarters of home games - it is a hoot!
It's The Victors
Santa is obviously on spring break and is wasted away in margaritaville again.
The Boys of Fall? Iron Man? Crazy Train?
Are you stalking me? How did you know that!? I demand an answer!
Not sure how this happened so far from my original but...the internet?
"Lemme freak" by Lil Dicky
Hahaha!!! WD and Jay-Z both negged me! That is rich.
