Michigan Rap/Hype song to play at Spring Game tomorrow

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

This aired on WTKA this morning.

Bailey, a San Francisco-based rapper (rappist), did a song like this for the 49ers when Harbaugh was there and it got over a million views on YouTube.

Harbaugh asked him awhile ago to do this song but for Michigan and he did.

Per WTKA, it will be played at The Big House tomorrow at the spring game. Bailey will actually be there tomorrow.

Before you old farts yell about it, Harbaugh loves it and he wanted this done.

I think it's pretty great.

It's a'ight. The production is spare enough that it won't sound incredibly dated in six months like that Pop Evil crapola (which in addition to sounding dated also sucked), but the sampled call-and-response is a bit silly.

... for what Harbaugh is building that's attracting top-notch recruits today, THIS WORKS!  Not saying it's a game-changer, it just fits with the "different" they see in Harbaugh.

Not a big fan of either but I actually liked the pop evil song better. The recruits at the spring game will probably enjoy it though. If it brings us better recruits then I'm all for it.

I liked the pop evil song. Don't really like them as a band or listen to their music but for getting pumped before a game it was pretty good. I always thought the response on this blog to that song was blown way out of line.

I hope its not some bull sh_t  because these recruits can smell bull sh_t a mile away and we lose cred by trying so hard when we only have to be ourselves. MICHIGAN!!!!!

How has that worked the last 10 years?? Losing smells a lot worse. Not a fan of the song, but they should let big Sean or please forgive me, lil Wayne haves crack at it.
I just really dislike when people make these statements. No one is breaking down doors to play here. Why do you think harbaugh is setting up camps all over the country. He understood early on that Michigan has to work to get back into relevance nationally. Please get off this "we are Michigan" stuff, that worked 20 years ago, not today.

I don't think that Jim actually asked for this. His concept was completely misconstrued, as he actually wanted Gordon Lightfoot to do a rap song about Michigan.

I am 56 yrs old and thought the song was great. I was yelling the hook "nobody" along with everyone else around me. I would love to see it during the season.
