LTT Sentenced to Two Years of Probation

Hopefully the victim is OK, and LTT is able to move on with his life and find success.
This thread is going to go well...
Why wouldn't it go well? News item factoid presented, hope everyone is OK now and in the future, nothing more to say. Or are you hoping it doesn't go well, and this was your way of getting the negative bullshit started?
Just a prediction based on previous LTT threads that ended up being locked. No need to get your panties in a wad.
I'm not wearing panties....anymore...
Wear panties. Except on Saturdays

and they're not bunched up at present
I was a big part of the non-locked threads and I am just going to let what has been said be said and move along.
However, I do believe both Mgoblog and the general Ann Arbor community should use this entire episode as caution against jumping to conclusions. It did not put a shine on the populace at large.
Exactly what wild conclusions were jumped to?
Seems fair. Not being sarcastic either
I'm also not being sarcastic in saying that Dantonio would have named him the starting left tackle after all this.
They thought they could win a NC .. not this year. Really.
I think it should be a new Sparty tradition - the basketball team travels to watch the football team get its ass kicked on a national stage, while the football team travels to watch the basketball team suffer the greatest upset in tournament history.

Agreed, and they believe in....
Damn right he would have.
But what about Jake Croman?
Thoughts and Prayers!
That Jake Croman story has been in all the local papers, the USA Today, NY Daily News, etc. The video is up to 400,000 views on YouTube. I ALMOST feel bad for the kid at this point. Can you imagine your life legacy being "was a giant douche in a video to an Uber driver"?
The NY Daily News called his father one of the most reviled landlords in New York, under investigation for forcing rent-stabilized tenants out of their homes. So now they're both under investigation. Good role models all around. Seriously, the guy deserves all the attention he's getting. Age is no excuse to be an asshole.
Yeah, the dad is apparently a scumbag, and has been hated in NYC for two decades for trying to force low-rent tenants out of their apartments through some insane tactics. That explained a LOT for me...
So I guess he will also run for POTUS in 2020???
/no politics!
To be fair, most landlords in NYC pull stuff like this. This guy is just blatantly terrible about it.
in fairness to those who try to get the rent controlled folk out... the rent control idea has been milked by a ton of people, far more than the landlord's trying to get them out.
Absolutely, but given how expensive it is to live in the city, so many people would be priced out otherwise. As it is large swaths of the city have become prohibitively expensive for anyone but a select few, but without rent control a lot of people of even moderate incomes would be banished far away.
Yes there are people who abuse the system, but I'm guessing that the massive real estate holding and management companies arte still coming out ahead even if a couple of people are able to hold onto their rent control units.
My dad makes way more money not working than you do working, so shut the f*** up.
Yes! Parody Croman is live!

Just like the UConn student wanting his Bacon Mac & Cheese....
I'm just gonna throw this out there - uhhhmmm, that sounds like bullshit, Jake. Nobody goes on a tirade like you did when confronted with anti-Semitism without ... you know, mentioning the anti-Semitism. And nobody's friends just stand around laughing when their friend is the victim of a slur.
It kind of sounds like you're lying about the anti-Semitic remarks Jake. Maybe because the family lawyer suggested it as a spin?
And on the really longshot chance it's the truth, I wouldn't be bragging about returning an anti-Semitic remark with a homophobic remark.
Jake hired one of the best lawyers in NYC....
It's telling that the A2 PD have a report made by the driver about a week ago regarding an earlier incident, while they don't have one made by this kid stemming from the anti-semitic statements he claimed the driver made.
My wife's Jewish, and has heard people make random anti-semitic comments. You don't forget those, or gloss over them, when yelling at someone.

Then don't be a giant douche. It takes a special kind of asshole to behave that way towards someone else, even if provoked.

Let's hope everyone involved are able to move on. I'm a big believer in second chances. Not many people though give third chances

It really is...
I hope that everyone involved can move on and have positive growth from it.
Did anything ever come of LTT committing to Washington State? Not sure what the situation was on that, never heard confirmation that he signed or when his deadline was.
It says in the story that he is going to graduate then transfer. That's all...
Thanks, was wondering if anyone on the board had knowledge of this transfer process that went beyond what this article covered.
I would imagine having this situation officially over and done will help him get a shot somewhere. Just a hunch, though.
He's already committed to Washington State. He has found another chance, just wondering when he'll be able to sign, because he's taken visits elsewhere too.
This offense comfortably falls under the catagory "Dumbass" as opposed to violent or vicious. This is a dumbass teenage boy thinking with his dick, a commonplace daily occurance in every city and town on this earth. I'd bring the kid back somehow if I were able.
I hope to god you aren't being serious
the same way if you knew the victim, right?
And you wonder why we have so many problems
I don't want him back, but what do you mean by so many problems? I think we run a fairly clean program, or am I looking at it through maize goggles? Just curious
I think he's referring to a general society problem with how we approach sexual assault crimes.
Not anything UM specific

That would make more sense, I though he meant the team

not categorise this as a sexual asault crime
Parole and getting kicked off the team is quite a punishment, in the grand scheme of things.

Not really, no.

Wow. That is a light punishment. Thought for sure he would spend a few months in jail.
