Harbaugh on the Smith Tweet: "It Was Time to Fire One Over Their Bow"

Submitted by BursleyHall82 on

Harbs explained his tweet to Gene Smith today. And it was beautiful. Other details:

- Harbaugh and Warde Manuel talked about it, and Manuel agreed with what Harbaugh did.

- According to Jourdan Lewis and Chris Wormley, the players LOVED it.

Gene Smith brought a knife to a gun fight. That never ends well with Jim Harbaugh.

The rest of the country saw the response by Zeke to Harbaugh and defiantly thought that crazy Jim just got bitch slapped. Then while he was down Braxton responded with that pic of shirtless Harbaugh vs. NC trophy holding Meyer. The people who somehow think Harbaugh came out on top are fuking stupid. Harbaugh got destroyed on Twitter, the only game he can actually compete at. That's at least how the rest of America sees it

Smash UM on the field. We have already seen that Harbaugh and Michigan can talk about how good they are in the off season, but come game time OSU is world class and UM is no class. It's really embarrassing for OSU to continue to play michigan. They would do much more to improve strength of schedule if they played Toledo or App St. . I guess Gene Smith and Urban just keep scheduling UM out of sympothy, hoping maybe someday things might change. But as you can see, with crazy Jim leading the team it will be year after year of 4 touchdown losses for UM.

Really like the insight by Wormley. Seems obvious once he said it, but I never really saw it that way. The Florida trip, Ford Field, keeps the team focused on the team instead of the monotomy of what I imagine spring practices in Ann Arbor can be.

You get the feeling that Harbaugh can't lose in these types of encounters because he's a smart man with principles. He's got no problem calling someone out, but he's got the cred that it doesn't sound disingenuous or weak. Plus, it feeds his overall image with the media and they love him (or at least love to cover him).
