Midnight musings: don't click here

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Spring game draft is set for Thursday. It will be an actual game just like last year.

Maize vs Blue. Woooooo!

But the spring game is still a 6pm Friday night game. Booooooo.

Are you going?

Do you even realize the spring game is coming is the real question? Since the athletic department has released so few details on the game that it's like they don't actually want people to show up.

Yes, Michigan held an open practice in Florida at IMG, tweets out dudes of the day, schedules a spring game at 6:00 on a Friday night so it won't compete with any other events on Saturday all in an attempt to prevent people from going to the spring game because...

The attendance is going to blow goats.

I'd groan if it was 8pm but at least it would, you know, provide people a chance to actually get there from work and not sit in ass-to-ass (ASS TO ASS!)^ Friday rush hour traffic.

^(if you get that reference, you're awesome)

I'll be there because I have a part-time job that I asked off for 2 weeks in advance. Others might not be so lucky.

at which time the temperature was still 60.   I'm not nearly as worried as you about it being a bit chilly for the Spring Game.

Besides, haven't most of us been at Michigan Stadium on Saturdays when the weather was a well below freezing?   Or did you NOT earn your Michigan Fan Badge by attending games such as those gawdawful Northwestern games played in sleet/freezing rain/gale-force winds/snow?

I believe it was the 1995 Purdue game where we got maybe three of Michigan's four seasons in the span of about two hours from sometime during the height of tailgating to about halftime or so. It was a very mild morning, then the front came through with a 45-ish MPH wind and a shitty, cold rain, then it got really cold and that became freezing rain. Some of us got very ill after that game, but Fandom Endurance Badge Level 4 (maybe 3, it's up for debate) attained.

60 degrees when I left with my dad, uncle and cousin for the game... the forcast came over the radio shortly after we left calling for rain, turning to freezing rain and then snow... my uncle swore it would never get that cold for that all to happen... well he was wrong oh so very worng... my dad and I made it through the entire game, my uncle and cousin left at halftime and sat in the car for the rest of the game (they had different seats than us, no idea they had left the stadium)... worst weather game I have ever sat through...

I have a full time job (well it's usually more like 60-65 hours) and have it requested off. My fiancée is working until two, my buddy is taking the day off, and so is his girl. People will show. It may not be a record breaker by any means, but there are people MAKING time for this event.

Hey WD, why haven't Benn and Discuss Man been posting lately? Haven't heard from them in a long time. Will you please tell them that it's okay to come out of hiding now. Thanks!

Who the hell cares if anyone goes. What do u want WD, a record crowd that ESPN talks about? oh, wait...our ENTIRE SPRING PRACTICE has been the top CFB story all month.

Who gives a shit? If someone was going to go before then great they'll probably make it. If not, they'll watch on BTN. I doubt Harbaugh gives one fuck let alone two.
