MOD EDIT - after a long night of Tournament viewing before sleep and then checking the board, yeah, I selected a better source with a less controversial name. - LSA

I see you've made quite an impression in your +/- 48 hours on the board. What was your handle before you got tanked?

The reporter got what he deserved.  He asked a "question" that was more of an insult than a question.  The players play their hearts out in this tournament and, win or lose, are more than worthy of respect and decorum in pressers.

Good to see this young adult stand up for himself.

I think I missed it, where is the racism?

I think it's allowed on the board not because it's not politics, but because it's college athletics.

Edit: Never mind, from reading the other comments it appears the original embed was linked to a different source.  My b.

This is a dumb argument, IMO.

You don't want to retweet it? Fine. Don't. Congratulations on your squeaky-clean retweeting policy.

The word in the Twitter handle has been appropriated by black people to take ownership of it, and we have (presumably) a bunch of white people sitting around their computers getting their panties in a bunch about "OMG I can't believe that word exists I wouldn't dare even retweet such an offensive word!" It's not like Wolverine Devotee came up with the Twitter handle or anything.

It's not worth getting worked up over.

It seems I'm less worked up by it than you, Magnus.  I was just pointing out that I wouldn't retweet it because my Twitter feed is public and I use it for work related things.  I was just pointing out that as a reason why one might care about the handle.

As far as congratulating me on "my squeaky-clean retweeting policy."  Well... I have three Twitter feeds. On my personal private one I retweet all kinds of shit.  On the one that is public, with my name attached, that my employers know about... is it really a surprise I wouldn't retweet that? Who would in that situation?

Gee, why not just say "the blacks".  Black people as a whole are not cool with this word being thrown around.  Black people are not this homogenized group when we agree on everything.  That word is definitely one.  The black people I associate with do not use the word.  It's not part of our lexicon.

And as a black person, I'm not mad at non-white people who use the word.  I'm mad at black people who throw the word around with complete and total ignorance, then get mad when someone who doesn't look like them uses the word.  Since my other opinions on the word are completely OT, I'll just leave it at that and say to cut WD some slack.  Kid made a mistake.  Move on.
