PS4 TV Now Nationwide with BTN

Submitted by BornInAA on

Sony announced today the PS4 TV "Vue" is now available nationwide.

The Core Slim package is $34.99 for 70+ channels and has BTN, ESPN, ESPN2 all the Fox Sports.

Live ABC, NBC, FOX not available yet.

Before, it was only in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, and Miami.

Anyone have experience with this?

I want to drop Time Warner...

Sling is C R A P.  You can't even watch ESPN on there it is all pixelated 1/2 the time.  Utter crap...sling is for sub only then use the ESPN app to watch ESPn.

Everything I've read sounds like Sony will not be repeating the mistakes that Dish did with Sling.

it's pretty good but your internet connection/router is a big factor. we were using it at our old place and it seemed to freeze quite a bit. we moved a few weeks ago and have a different ISP and have a new router and it works very well. Switching channels is quick and it rarely freezes. we keep it on almost all day too - very happy with it so far (we're using it on a fire tv, fwiw). I believe they also do a 7 day trial, so i'd recommend giving it a shot and see how it works on your set up.

A good router can fix those issues.  Recently cut the cord and was having some issues initially.  Bumped the router up to an ASUS 3100 and now get much more reliable 802.11ac coverage and speeds throughout the house.

Moho Leaf + Tablo = Broadcast TV streaming with DVR.

Sling = AMC + ESPN + TNT + TBS

Netflix

$37 a month between those three things gets us abou 90% of what we used to watch on Cable.

If BTN can hit Sling by September, I'm in good shape.  Otherwise, I'll get some kind of super basic cable package that gets me BTN and BTN2Go for a few months.

I use it. It's still a work in progress in many respects; the picture quality is not quite as good as what you would get through your cable company, and the DVR functionality is lacking (rewinding and fast forwarding is sometimes inexplicably disabled for certain shows). But it's steadily improving, and every package costs less than its cable equivalent. If you're truly fed up with cable and you don't mind dealing with the kinks while the service matures, then go for it.

So I've been using the Vue free trial. I love it. The picture is far better than U-Verse. In about 3 hours of watching so far I have yet to have one hiccup or low quality picture.
