Latwan Anderson considering Michigan?
I don't usually facebook stalk but this popped up on my feed..
"...today making my final college desicion[WVU,USC,OSU...uhm surprise UofM]Shock the World..."
I'm pretty sure if he meant Miami he'd have said "The U". Either way it could be nothing but it could be something aswell.

What difference does the strength of the shove make?
If you're questioning whether he shoved the teacher or not, that's one thing.
If your opinion of him is based on HOW HARD he shoved the teacher, then I advise you to rethink your position.

As I have admitted before, I was not a model citizen while growing up and got in lots of trouble in school. Depending on the kids a teachers view of an occurance will change, for instance:
A straight A student is running down the hall and turns a corner into an oncoming teacher. He puts his hands on them as he moves out of the way to avoid running into them but because of his speed the teachers flies into the wall.
Because of the student, nothing likely comes from this. If this had be me running down the hall and the exact same sequence of events took place, I would have been expelled on the spot.
Now I am not trying to insinuate that Anderson is like I was as a teen or that I know anything about what took place during this event, just that a shove isn't necessarily a shove.
Depending on circumstances, I would have no problem with a student shoving a teacher......then again, I was once expelled for punching the principal in the face when he tried to break up a fight I was in.
February 8th, 2010 at 9:55 AM ^
So in your example, the straight A student wouldn't have been punished so severely.
But a less-than-ideal student would have been punished severely? So...in other words...the student in question who might have been expelled would STILL have had to have done things bad enough to warrant an expulsion for such a minor offense as pushing a teacher as he was running down the hallway?
I fail to see how this would defend Latwan Anderson in any way.

I am very concerned about offering someone who got expelled period. That said, I think there is a big difference between chronic misbehavior that included shoving a teacher (which crosses a line no matter how hard) lightly and led to expulsion and an incident tantamount to assault. If the former is the case, I would think about offering him, if he can convince the coaches that he has become a better person and reformed his behavior (a la Dorsey). However, if he did something that would be considered a violent crime (pushing the teacher down, pushing the teacher into a wall, pushing the teacher very hard, etc.), I wouldn't even consider offering.
Whatever the case is, it seems clear that Anderson has some baggage that needs close scrutiny. The question is whether he represents a Dorsey-level risk (acceptable) or simply should not be offered.

Who cares about the Freep, they'll find something wrong with Michigan no matter what, if it helps us win a national championship then thats all i care about

I think I'll need the super secret decoder wheel to figure out where Latwan will end up.
My guess is he ends up at WVU. If not, then based on the list he provided I would think Michigan is a strong possibility. This would be unreal.
February 7th, 2010 at 4:24 PM ^
But after cracking the super secret code, all it said was: Be sure to drink your Ovaltine.
Ovaltine? A crummy commercial??
Son of a bitch!

Could this have anything to do with Tedd Ginn Sr. being a little more welcoming to UM coaches now. I remember reading a few weeks ago when Latwan was looking around that Ginn was more open to us.
Either way this is a good for UM. If he goes blue Latwan has a great chance at seeing action this year (I do not see any freshman starting at safety until possibly late into big ten season)but he will get on the field for special teams and back-up minutes. A 2011 secondary of the following would make me feel very comfortable
CB:Turner
CB:Dorsey
Nickel: Cullen and Avery
SS:Anderson,Johnson
FS:Emilien,Vinopal

If Anderson commits this would have to move us up the list of best recruiting classes. I think our coaching staff has done a great job putting this class together. Anderson would just be icing on the cake.
February 7th, 2010 at 4:11 PM ^
He would be the ice cream to go with the cake

Look who Latwan reminds Rivals of. Not to bring up sore memories, but if anyone is still hurt over that recruitment its really time to get over it anyways.

I doubt he comes here, as others have said he hasn't come up for a visit, only a camp and that was a while ago. Throughout the process he has never been all that high on M and I expect that whenever he announces, he won't commit here.
February 7th, 2010 at 5:02 PM ^
qualifying would be a problem?
February 7th, 2010 at 5:21 PM ^
I'm not an expert like the guys on gobluewoverinemichiganfootball@theblogspotinformationmichiganfooball.com but this is one of the best highlight films I've ever seen.
February 7th, 2010 at 7:07 PM ^
he has great instincts, great speed, and hits like a ton of bricks..... Getting him, would be AWSOME!!!
February 8th, 2010 at 12:43 AM ^
...however, let me (and the McGuffie fans out there) caution you against passing judgment based on a highlight film.
I agree that Latwan is legit based on who he has offers from and the ratings from all three scouting services, though.
February 8th, 2010 at 8:32 PM ^
McGuffie didn't prove anything. He played as a true freshman in a new system on one of the worst offenses in Michigan history. Give the kid a break.
February 8th, 2010 at 11:27 PM ^
that highlight film just took away any character problems for me. that guy can bring the wood and is just a great player from the looks of that.
That would be a great add in my opinion.
February 7th, 2010 at 5:34 PM ^
I talked to Stephen Hopkins, he is working on Latwan. No response from Ricardo Miller yet.
February 7th, 2010 at 6:36 PM ^
Unless you actually know Hopkins or Miller, this is pathetic. Leave it alone.
February 7th, 2010 at 5:41 PM ^
Outside of him/friends of Latwan Anderson, the people commenting on his status about where to go need to be dong punched. So freaking pathetic.
February 7th, 2010 at 6:31 PM ^
things might have changed in Latwan's thinking. I would love to hear 100,000+ Michigan Fans shouting "Pick Six" as this player runs to the end-zone. With Dorsey and Latwan pushing each other, good things could happen for both.
February 7th, 2010 at 6:55 PM ^
Interesting to see this come across here today. I had just seen on Rivals a day or two ago that he didn't sign a LOI with WVU, so I figured something like this was in the works. This would be a nice little late gift!
February 7th, 2010 at 8:50 PM ^
I'm not a facebook stalker but do stalk the WVU sites every so often. This was posted yesterday by a WVU fan facebook stalker.
Latwan Anderson -- "LIke The GReat "ALI"...im bout to shock the world...****** the last one was cute as ****....but she just might be the cutes thing i ever seen no lie brah you gotta see her she ridiculous and oyu already know ima need her to dothat one thing aha....eating my food...columbus later...then who knows signing in 2weeks feb.17"
My translation... I think I'll surprise my Grandmother by visiting her in Columbus during Easter vacation. She's so cute when I make a surprise visit. My Grandma is one amazing cook and her food is rediculous -- she's going to do her thing! No lie brother. Then, who knows, I might sign a letter of intent on Feb 17th. The letter of intent means that I, as a prospective student-athlete, agree to attend a designated college or university for one academic year.
February 7th, 2010 at 9:33 PM ^
I went to his FB page, and Anderson said within the conversation that he was referring to Michigan. He also has Shock the World written on the left side of the page and has several UM players as friends. I don't know if it really means anything but FWIW he said Michigan...so Go Blue.
February 7th, 2010 at 10:22 PM ^
Just when I thought I was done obsessing if the stud safety would commit here...wishful thinking IMO but if this happens its exciting to think of all the possibilities with all this potential..No Freaking Fly Zone
February 7th, 2010 at 11:45 PM ^
Hasn't visited, shown no real interest, not coming to M.
February 8th, 2010 at 1:28 AM ^
in the signing day presser (he said that right at the end.) He was mentioning this wrt signing another O lineman. He specifically said he would have to take away a scholarship from a receiver to do that. I think he was talking about this in a pluperfect sense - not in a future sense.
Earlier he mentioned that one or two guys might not qualify. Regardless to sign another would call for some movement somewhere with one not qualifying and counting one back to make 27=25.
I'm wondering if this would be contingent on a second recruit not qualifying?
February 8th, 2010 at 7:56 AM ^
We can always release mrider from his scholarship.
February 8th, 2010 at 9:49 AM ^
Dude, he doesn't have a schollie. He wasn't rated by any recruiting site (not even a one star). He is a sub par poster and takes 60 seconds to type 40 words....a 60-40 time is poor.
He was a walk-on and has done nothing since joining the team to earn a schollie.
/sarcasm.
February 8th, 2010 at 2:14 PM ^
I realize that he's been here forever and is a part of us, but how would freeing up Tacopants' scholarship make things look for us? With all of the passes thrown his way over the years, he has never caught a single one.
February 8th, 2010 at 11:32 PM ^
Who's tacopants?
February 8th, 2010 at 9:26 PM ^
Apparently OSU was recruiting him to play offense and not defense. Also he was asked if OSU pulled there offer and he responded how could someone take something i rejected at the AA game. So might explain why he didnt like OSU
February 9th, 2010 at 12:09 AM ^
Years ago i had a friend that fell under the same circumstances. The teacher happened to be condescending and got kicks out of playing the tough guy role on his students. My friend asked politely to use the restroom and the teacher decided to poke him in the chest while stating "no, now introduce your backside to your seat". My friend pushed him out of the way to head towards the restroom and was suspended indefinently. He went on to get his GED, has a job, home and family now. He's never been in any sort of trouble since.
My point is, without knowing the circumstances, I reserve any judgement. Although teens can and will make trouble, often times the teachers in high schools can be just as problematic.I don't think this single occurrence should give him the title of a trouble maker. He may well end up being an ideal student athlete. Even if this is a telling sign of this paricular kids attitude, who better to keep him on the straight and narrow then RR.

Looks like Latwan Anderson to visit USC this weekend.
