Super Bowl Predictions

Submitted by rastafari on

Norleans has a solid defensive. Rushes and sacks Manning repeatedly. Offensively they are on a roll. Cool breeze. Cool runnings.............

NO 33
INDY 28

Let's crank up the volume a little. Discussion. Predictions.................

Definitely going to be a good game. I expect the Saints to try to pressure Manning to try to get him off of rhythm but I dont think it will be enough to stop the Colts passing game.

Indy 31, Saints 24

If you are rational, it is hard to bet against Manning and the Colts. The only hope I see for New Orleans, who I am hoping wins, is if Greg Williams can do to Manning what he did to Favre and have Peyton spend a lot of time on his ass.

I'd love to see Brees walk away with a win.

Colts 35, Saints 17

My head is going to asplode if I hear the words/phrases "game planning", "meticulous", "cerebral", "diligence" and of course the Johnny-come-lately arguments that would lead you to believe Manning is the QB with three rings while Brady only has one. Basically what I'm saying is Go Saints.

I've heard this argument used before, but the Vikings had 5 TO and some questionable calls go against them, yet STILL brought New Orleans to overtime before losing. I don't see the Colts making 5 TO's.

Peyton has had two weeks to see the Saint's best on tape, as long as Wayne is good to go (and Freeney juices up on cortisone), I see the Colts winning this in the end.

To me it's all about who has a better start. The Saints can get on a roll quickly, while the Colts take some time to finally get heated up. If the Colts can limit the Saints early, then they will win.

I predict that the super bowl is too over hyped

I also predict that the Colts will win 34-24.

I also predict Michigan football goes 13-0 next year(This one I'm serious about.)

But as the old MadTV skit taught me, it's all about "lowered expectaaaaations." I'm expecting a decent game, and anything better than that will be a bonus (Same goes for the commercials.)

As for predictions, I'm thinking Indy wins by 10+, though I'll be rooting for NO.

Colts 35, Saints 17. Favre sliced up the Saints pass defense easily and Manning is much better than Favre. Plus no chance in the hell the Colts turn it over like the Vikes did. I hate Manning and I'd love to see the Saints win, but I don't think it's going to happen.

I just have one question (in a fun, not mean spirit) - did anyone picking the Saints to WIN today (not just cover the spread), watch the conference championship games?

- Peyton Manning = Whole new level of unstoppable

- Saints = Needed ungodly amounts of turnovers to beat the Vikings at home

Not a good sign for the Saints.

Indy 38 New Orleans 24

To be clear I wish I could pick the Saints. Better story for everyone if they win. However, I just don't see it happening.

I had made up my mind before the playoffs that the Vikings were the only team that I could see defeating the Saints. The winner of that conference championship would get my vote for super bowl winner.

Besides, if you watched all season you didn't really learn anything new about these teams in those conference games. The Saints routinely put up big first quarter leads and/or scored a gaudy amount of points against far better defenses than the Colts. PHI, NE, and MIA to name a few. This is why I am picking New Orleans to win and they might just win big.

No turnovers by Manning will keep this close. Otherwise, Saints win by two scores.

34-31 Saints

I don't understand how everyone believes that The Saints will "pressure" Manning. The Jets had a way better pass rush the NO and yet Manning was never really pressured. So i don't buy the popular belief that Saints D will play any role in this game. If the saints win im looking for reggi bush and pierre thomas to have a huge impact running the ball. My hearts telling me...

Saints - 35
Colts - 28

Points total - 63

and blitz-blitz-blitz, the Saints have a chance. Once Payton gets sacked, he has a tendency to float the ball(doesn't get his feet set). The Saints must control the clock and establish the run early. If Payton can get set up and plant his feet it will get ugly. My heart is with the Saints but my money is on the Colts. I predict Colts win with a game winning TD 42-38.

38-17, Manning will be MVP again and Hart will come back to campus and show off the Ring, inspiring the football to a 1 loss season and Rose Bowl victory. Go Colts and Go Blue!!!!

I'm rooting for New Orleans, and I really don't want to see Manning get his second...but the Saints didn't exactly instill me with confidence struggling against the Vikes.

Here's hoping for a Tennessee era big game implosion by Manning...
