I think guys have injured their hamstrings even after they have warmed up and stretched. Just a general observation.

might provide some perspective regarding why "playing school" is a valuable opportunity.

He possibly pulled a hamstring... He wasn't diagnosed with cancer or suffered a life threatening event.

I am confused. Did you miss the sarcasm or did I? Either way, thoughts and prayers to all involved.

Funny enough, three years later some ESPN blog writer wrote an article on that tweet and his response in 2015. He had changed his tune quite a bit. It could be total bullshit, but I like to give even Buckeyes the benefit of the doubt sometimes. Funny thing is that he's likely to need whatever education he got to survive once he's done with his (likely short) NFL career.

and I'm with you on hoping that was sincere on his part. Far too often people have no idea of how great opportunities are until they're in the rear view mirror. And that goes double for teenagers.
February 27th, 2016 at 5:22 PM ^
Cardale, buddy, I try to give you the benefit of the doubt on the whole not taking academics seriously thing. Then you go and tweet this:
faith and family, NOTHING is more important then education
February 27th, 2016 at 6:13 PM ^
That's funny. Taken in the best light, I think it shows that he values education, not that he's educated.
February 27th, 2016 at 8:33 PM ^
faith and family, NOTHING is more important, then education
BTW, just because you take a stupid statement back doesn't mean the mockery is going to end. Especially if it is epic.
The next time your friends make fun of one of your comments, try saying "OK, I no longer mean it". Get back to us to let us know how that goes.

I think Jones will have a long NFL career. If he can even catch on as a backup, someone will have faith in his "cannon" and his accuracy downfield. Meyer's offense will hurt his draft position, but I think he will win a roster spot wherever he is drafted.
if he is smart enough to keep his eyes and ears open and his mouth shut, he could easily leverage his arm into a a cushy "#2 QB" job and get paid a million a year to stand on the sideline, not get hit in practice and never have to play in a real game.

Cardale just carrying on in the fine tradition of Troy "more nachos please" Vincent in screwing the pooch at the combine

Smith?

Really? It's a hamstring injury, not cancer. He'll be fine.
February 27th, 2016 at 4:28 PM ^
I think that was intended as the amusing part of his post. He just didn't type /s because it really shouldn't be needed except in extreme cases. Like when you say
"What do women do when they get out of the domestic abuse shelter? Make dinner if they know what's best for them."

A lot of speculation going around that he's faking the injury so he doesn't have to throw at the combine without taking a bad media hit. Less pressure at Ohio State's pro day, where he can control exactly what goes on.
/conspiracy theory
February 27th, 2016 at 9:45 PM ^
he ran a 4.83 when his hammy was fine. 4.85 when his hammy (allegedly!) tweaked.

Oh, wait...
February 27th, 2016 at 4:29 PM ^
This is a guy who by all accounts became a class act student athlete, and he's all done playing for the Buckeyes. Yes, he'll recover from a hamstring injury, but he's still hurt himself in pursuit of his dream. Lets not dance on anyone's injury here.
February 27th, 2016 at 4:55 PM ^
"Student athlete."
February 27th, 2016 at 5:38 PM ^
Just taking advantage of a learning opportunity. I wish him well, and good on him for taking school seriously, if accounts are accurate.
February 27th, 2016 at 4:31 PM ^
His lover needs to let go of it _before_ Jones commences his sprint or that's gonna hurt every time.

That does suck for him. He played for a rival and seems like a knucklehead, but nobody needs to be burying him.
February 27th, 2016 at 8:42 PM ^
We're having a little fun with a Buckeye that provided the ammo.
He pulled a hammy running in a straight line. (He probably still ran faster than Clarett.)
February 27th, 2016 at 4:52 PM ^
Fuck Cardale Jones
February 27th, 2016 at 8:14 PM ^
No thank you.
February 27th, 2016 at 5:10 PM ^
What makes this doubly concerning and shitty timing for Jones is that Ohio State's pro day is about two weeks distant, so if it is a fairly significant injury then that is not a lot of time to get to 100%. It won't help his draft stock certainly in a pretty intriguing QB field this time around, so I suppose now we won't have a good handle on how he'll fare in the draft until we hear his name.
February 27th, 2016 at 5:14 PM ^
This thread is what is wrong with our blog. We complain about RCMB and 11warriors, it's exactly the same.
February 27th, 2016 at 10:46 PM ^
This X 1000. What kills me is we mock these guys but they absolutely destroyed m on the field. Give me a d-bag qb who goes 8-0 against our rivals over a choir boy who goes 0-8
