Cardale Jones Injured Running 40 at Combine

Submitted by FauxMo on
Sounds like a hamstring injury. Guess he didn't go to OSU to "play stretching and warming up" either... But really, thoughts and prayers...

Funny enough, three years later some ESPN blog writer wrote an article on that tweet and his response in 2015. He had changed his tune quite a bit. It could be total bullshit, but I like to give even Buckeyes the benefit of the doubt sometimes. Funny thing is that he's likely to need whatever education he got to survive once he's done with his (likely short) NFL career.

faith and family, NOTHING is more important, then education

BTW, just because you take a stupid statement back doesn't mean the mockery is going to end.  Especially if it is epic.

The next time your friends make fun of one of your comments, try saying "OK, I no longer mean it".  Get back to us to let us know how that goes.

I think Jones will have a long NFL career.  If he can even catch on as a backup, someone will have faith in his "cannon" and his accuracy downfield.  Meyer's offense will hurt his draft position, but I think he will win a roster spot wherever he is drafted.

if he is smart enough to keep his eyes and ears open and his mouth shut, he could easily leverage his arm into a a cushy "#2 QB" job and get paid a million a year to stand on the sideline, not get hit in practice and never have to play in a real game.

I think that was intended as the amusing part of his post. He just didn't type /s because it really shouldn't be needed except in extreme cases. Like when you say

"What do women do when they get out of the domestic abuse shelter? Make dinner if they know what's best for them."

A lot of speculation going around that he's faking the injury so he doesn't have to throw at the combine without taking a bad media hit. Less pressure at Ohio State's pro day, where he can control exactly what goes on.

This is a guy who by all accounts became a class act student athlete, and he's all done playing for the Buckeyes. Yes, he'll recover from a hamstring injury, but he's still hurt himself in pursuit of his dream. Lets not dance on anyone's injury here.

What makes this doubly concerning and shitty timing for Jones is that Ohio State's pro day is about two weeks distant, so if it is a fairly significant injury then that is not a lot of time to get to 100%. It won't help his draft stock certainly in a pretty intriguing QB field this time around, so I suppose now we won't have a good handle on how he'll fare in the draft until we hear his name.
