Most Trustworthy Users

Submitted by MGoLow on

When reading threads about various rumors or inner workings of the school, there are certain users that claim to "know people" or have some sort of inside knowledge. I'm just curious, besides the mods, are there any users on this site that have been "vetted" and we can confirm as being "in the know?" Essentially, I want to know who you listen to and who you ignore.

are fomo and Yo_Blue the same person? Let's look at the facts, you both joined in summer 2010, you both have italicized signatures, you both have an O as the second letter in your username, and you both have ~ 20K MGoPoints. Certainly seems suspicious to me.

He jumped me for misspelling Budweiser albeit 3xs in a row but I did want to ask him if all was well with him and his family......on a positive note I learned how to spell Budweiser correctly.. Go Blue as always....and go easy on Mags he's still a trusted source.

I won't claim to be perfect at evaluating players, but I don't think I ever said that Melvin Gordon wasn't a D1 running back prospect.

EDIT: LOL. This is like the game of telephone. Because I was confused about your post, I went back and looked at my comments on Gordon. In a post in June of 2010 before Gordon's senior year, I said "Could also play safety" in regard to Gordon. Six years later, somehow that has turned into "You said he wasn't a D1 running back and Michigan would only take him as a safety." I didn't say he wasn't a D1 running back, and I also didn't say that Michigan would only take him as a safety. So basically the whole premise of your post is false. Again, I'm not perfect when it comes to evaluations, but you're severely misrepresenting what I said.

to be fair I think that's more of a UM thing than prognostication. I just think it's easy to say "I'd take X over Y but Z over both of them" and pepper in some obvious scouting notes. I do appreciate the visit scheduling info! Well, I appreciate all of it on a basic level but I look at and didn't already know the visit info so that's solid.

Wait a minute...so your evidence so far is me saying that "at this point I don't think Michigan would take him" (he chose Wisconsin, and Michigan wasn't contacting him at that point) and "the only way he comes to Michigan might be as a safety, which is a longlonglongshot" (he chose Wisconsin, where he didn't play safety)? That's a roundabout way of coming to a conclusion.

I distinctly remember you commenting that Melvin was too small to play RB in the Big Ten and that he would be better off as a defensive back. This was in 2010 when he originally committed to Iowa, the site isn't making it easy to find, and the fact that you have a billion comments isn't helping me find it either, especially since I'm on mobile and at work.

That still doesn't coincide with your initial criticism, which was when I allegedly said "He's not a D1 running back." Now you're amending it to saying he's too small to play RB in the Big Ten, which I don't remember saying, either. It's possible since this all happened six years ago, but speaking of trustworthiness, I have yet to see much evidence that YOUR comments about me are very trustworthy. Your entire first comment in this section is essentially a lie about me.

Take my evaluations with a grain of salt. I don't care. I take evaluations from lots of analysts with a grain of salt. But don't lie about me.

Horseshit Magnus! You made one comment on one running back 6 years ago and that is enough for that poster to be skeptical of the validity of all your posts. Never mind any of the other player evaluations since then, it's that one comment that taints anything you say. Shame on you Magnus

but I see nothing else special about him or his scouting ability. It's usually pretty obvious stuff to anyone that watches football. I mean zero negative in this conment, btw. I just never understood the cry for his opinion on a game or recruiting. To be fair, I think that mostly comes from those that truly don't know much. So....? Listen to all all and know most is BS. Bluevod knows all until he doesn't and the knowledge IS Dr Manhattan.

I don't know, I think he often tends to point out flaws in certain prospects that other people are over exuberant about, and these often prove to be correct. The flip side also tends to be true for some under the radar prospects. Overall, I think he provides a nice reality check to opinions expressed in this site. I also just personally like his writing style.
