Jim Harbaugh Playing in the Pebble Beach Pro Am

Submitted by AeroEngin04 on

Looks like Jim is going to tee it up this week at Pebble Beach with the pros.  Lots of questions on my mind.

http://www.attpbgolf.com/players/#celebrities

1.  Does he make the cut to Sunday?  (The competitor in him must be burning to make the cut.)

2.  Attire?  (Full Harbaugh?  Rickie Fowler high tops and joggers?)

3.  How's the swing?  (Smooth athletic swing with the help of coaching or a unique home grown swing?)

4.  Clubs?  (Assuming a new bag of Taylormades)

5.  Pro to be paired with?  (My pick: Jason Day)

Good luck to our coach out there.  Hit them straight and enjoy yourself!

EDIT:  Swing looks pretty good; smooth just like his recruiting pitch.

no knowledge whatsoever either way as to his game, but I can typically look at a person and watch their movements for a few minutes and tell you whether they can play golf at a somewhat competent level.  I have to say that Coach Harbaugh does not strike me as somebody in the "yes" column but hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised.

A little tentative over the ball, doesn't transition weight fully through to the left side, hence the push/block/fade into the gallery and resulting "FORE!!"

Might wanna bump that fairway wood address a bit forward in stnace as well.

Solid set-up, nice shoulder tilt and strong grip.

1.  Does he make the cut to Sunday?  Yes.

2.  Attire?  Khakis and a shirt, but the same shirt every day because it got him through the round the first day. Sarah picked out 4 different ones. But he just couldn't find it in him to change something that works, y'know?

3.  How's the swing?  Harbaugh's days of playing baseball in abandoned strip malls by himself have led to one hell of a golf swing. Probably will shank the first drive, but should be good from there. Natural athlete. 6'3" frame to hit it long too. 275 all day IMO.

4.  Clubs?  Bo's old set of woods. I mean, actual wooden woods.

5.  Pro to be paired with? Didn't Justin Johnson do a video thing for SOTS? I'm pretty sure, so I'll go with him. Ten bucks Harbaugh coaches him up on how to not blow a major.

DYK a golf blister led to the birth of batting gloves?

I would say there is probably no correlation between the two. I like to think my softball swing messes with my golf swing and vice versa. But TBH I am bad at both. My grandpa OTOH played minor league ball and was a scratch golfer well into his 50s. PLUS I was just having a little fun with the OPs list.

Because of course he is.

Looking forward to the Harbaugh vs. Kim Jong Un golf head-to-head battle. It will be epic with two competitors who are the best at everything they do. But Jong Un did complete 18 holes with only 18 shots before, so this might be a tough one for the ol' coach.

Coach is everywhere you want to be, at the time you want to be there.  To me its pretty cool that the time he decides to do this is just after completing his first year as the University of Michigan head football coach.  This is one of the few regular tour events I always try to watch on TV, but have extra incentive this year.  Hope he has a good handicap and makes it to Sunday.

I was pissed the Waste Management Pheonix Open went to three playoff holes. Missed the finish for the super bowl (Fowler lost :(...), which in retrospect was probably a dumb idea. By far one of my favorites up there with the Pebble Pro-am, The Masters, & the Players.

WMPO is the one with the crazy crowd around the par 3 16th. Loudest Stadium in Golf they call it.

Also the hole where they chuck beers all over the green when someone aces.

I feel like I'm playing "where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?" with Harbaugh. At any point in time he could be with any person in any place doing anything, as long as it is an awesome thing.
