I'm getting a sub right now. Crazy.
January 29th, 2016 at 12:08 AM ^
Can someon explain the sub reference, please?
January 29th, 2016 at 12:23 AM ^
Direct quote from Beilein a year or two ago, "We had subs, it was crazy."
January 28th, 2016 at 10:40 PM ^
Just can't do it after seeing that.
In some cases fortunately--and in this case unfortunately--I have a highly visual memory.
January 29th, 2016 at 12:10 AM ^
Power of suggestion says they'll taste like shit anyway.
January 29th, 2016 at 8:49 AM ^
assumption about where the bananas are actually coming from. Maybe it's...the OTHER place.
January 28th, 2016 at 7:07 PM ^
a winged helmet this fall.
January 29th, 2016 at 10:44 AM ^
You mean EVERYONE on the team gets a helmet?

or are we getting more active in the PWO recruiting scene? Or is it just getting more attention because its Harbaugh? Genuinely curious.
January 28th, 2016 at 7:10 PM ^
Harbaugh. The answer is always Harbaugh.
January 28th, 2016 at 7:22 PM ^
Much more active. That is one of the benefits of the added recruiting/scouting staff that Harbaugh added.
January 28th, 2016 at 7:10 PM ^
I love how much we're focusing on PWOs this year. Assuming they have good attitudes and work ethics, it can never hurt to have as many quality walk-ons on the team as possible. Raises the competition level in practice, and you never know who could become the next Kovacs or Glasgow
January 28th, 2016 at 8:25 PM ^
even if walk-ons never play on Saturdays, they can be important to scout teams.
January 29th, 2016 at 8:33 AM ^
Plus, ever since the 85-man scholarship limit, schools have seen talent slip through the cracks to non-Power 5 conferences. A PWO spot at Michigan is going to attract the exact type of kid we want in the program...smart, dedicated workers that WANT to be here enough to shell out tens of thousands of dollars to say they were on the UM football team and earned a UM degree. Great strategy.
January 28th, 2016 at 7:11 PM ^
Keep bringing these PWOs, could be some diamonds with these kids that would otherwise probably go D2 or low level P5.
Finding one Kovacs or Glasgow makes this a very smart strategy.
January 28th, 2016 at 7:14 PM ^
Where might a guy like me find an assembled list of Michigan's incoming PWO's (or assemble it himself)?
January 28th, 2016 at 7:24 PM ^
Not sure how complete it is (Cochran isn't yet listed), but MGoFish has one, and it also has PWO offers.
January 28th, 2016 at 9:43 PM ^
I'm surprised how many on his list are from out of state. $43,000+ for tuition. With room and board over $53k per year. Hopefully they have rich parents.
January 28th, 2016 at 7:14 PM ^
Is it just me or is anyone else seeing "Hello: Player (POW)" every time? I mean it would be good news if we recovered a prisoner of war, but bad news if we have any out there.
January 28th, 2016 at 7:18 PM ^
Cochran all the way to Ann Arbor!
January 28th, 2016 at 10:26 PM ^
I am actually the only one to find this funny.
January 28th, 2016 at 7:19 PM ^
We're going to be able to field a whole team of them. There's a limit to how many we can roster right? Scholarship or not?
January 28th, 2016 at 7:21 PM ^
How many uniforms do we have?
January 28th, 2016 at 7:22 PM ^
There are limits on how many can dress for games and how many can travel but I think the overall roster is unlimited. Could be wrong.
January 28th, 2016 at 7:36 PM ^
As I recall, the rule is a maximum of 105 for camp, but while school is in session, there is no set limit - some schools do cap it anyway, of course.
Here's the rule on the practice limit:
17.9.2.1.2 Limit on Number of Participants—Bowl Subdivision. [FBS] In bowl subdivision football, there shall be a limit of 105 student-athletes who may engage in practice activities prior to the institution’s first day of classes or the institution’s first contest, whichever occurs earlier. (Adopted: 1/11/94, Revised: 12/15/06)
January 28th, 2016 at 7:24 PM ^
can participate in fall camp. No limit on how many can join the team after that.
January 29th, 2016 at 12:12 AM ^
"Um, er, Sir, uh, Mr. Harbaugh, Mr. Harbaugh, SIR, we have used every # twice...even 00..."
The Equipment Man's nightmare Talk of Shame.
January 28th, 2016 at 7:29 PM ^
Is there a limit to the number of PWO's? If not, why not keep a huge stable of them. You never know who could develop into a starter.
January 28th, 2016 at 8:27 PM ^
I would think that keeps the ideal number of walkons from going too high.
January 28th, 2016 at 7:42 PM ^
...I did not know this before I Googled it.
Finally, preferred walk-ons are in a better place to earn a scholarship but in football it normally does not happen until a player’s junior year. That’s because giving a walk-on a scholarship after his freshman year still uses one of the 25 initial scholarships for that year. A player has to be on the team for two full years before they can get a scholarship and not have it count like an incoming student.

+1 for answering my question that I did not even have to post. Now all the PWO offers make sense. Thank you for digging up the answer.
January 28th, 2016 at 7:44 PM ^
Looks appropriately aggressive for a Harbaugh recruit. Seems to be a common thread with many of the recruits-many look to have a mean streak which I like. Add 20 pounds of muscle to that frame and it will really hurt across the middle :-). Welcome and GO BLUE!
January 28th, 2016 at 9:34 PM ^
Tyler's plant and break to the ball/WR (out of his backpedal) really resembles his dad's, and is a more than willing tackler when he arrives at the party. He's been training with Brad since he was a little guy. Tremendous work ethic, and will no doubt pack on some additional (useful) muscle. Big upside for Cochran version 2.0!
January 28th, 2016 at 7:50 PM ^
Looks like another good pickup.
Cochran apparently had an offer from Air Force and a PWO offer from Notre Dame, per http://www.thedzone.net/2015/04/tyler-cochran-orchard-lake-st-marys-s.h…. Also a high academic kid, as he was also considering Penn and Brown, among others.
Seems like he'll definitely be a good depth add, at the least.
January 28th, 2016 at 8:32 PM ^
Dang! happy he's coming to Michigan but as an Air Force grad he is exactly the kind of guy who does really well there.

No doubt, his dad was outstanding; think he was 3rd round pick of Raiders.
Watching his film, almost wish Tyler had gone FCS or MAC, where he'd probably be very good. But he certainly has a chance to be a special teams star at M. Wish him luck.

Why is aren't there 8 threads on Jourdon Lewis Twitter flame war with the OSU WR?

I would have posted it...it has since been deleted. Evans was talking trash so Lewis responded.
