know why exactly he couldnt qualify? was it His grades, or our athletic department?

edit: apparently this question is negworthy so ill clarify: i heard he had the grades but our athletic dept messed it up somehow or something along those lines. thats why i was asking.

the word is that he was qualified but the admissions department wouldn't let him in because of something related to the classes he took post-high school to qualify or an odd jump in test score.

It kind of pisses me off we'd kowtow in fear of the Freep or some other academics scandal. If the man qualified, the man qualified. Of course admissions may know something we don't.

At the end of the day, next time Stephen J. Ross wants to send a lot of money our way, he should buy us the Freep.

I highly doubt that the Admissions Dept. made its decision about whether or not Witty was likely to have submitted a fraudulent score based on fears about what the Freep would say. In fact, it's basically a non sequitur. Even if Admissions was afraid of blowback and subsequently decided not to admit him, that doesn't mean they "decided he was guilty of wrongdoing."

Feel free to point out where I said anything like, "This is exactly what happened, I'm 100% positive."

I said that was the "word" - as in, it's speculation, which I heard elsewhere. GBW, to be exact. So if you're going to whine, whine about them. I'm just repeating what's been said.

I'm sure that won't stop you from continuing your bizarre fascination with everything I say, though. Clown.

Though I was really excited to see what he could do at Michigan, I guess it wasn't meant to be. Along with Travante Stallworth, I'll definitely be following his career through college.

Good luck!

Glad to see he's ended up somewhere decent. Disappointed he won't be donning the winged helmet next year, as it sounded like the coaching staff was high on him, but here's to hoping everything works out for the young man.

Congratulations to Mr. Witty. I am glad he landed on his feet. From everything I read, he worked his tail off trying to get qualified and become a Wolverine, its too bad it didnt work out. Good luck to him.
