I cried for an hour.
I was 5 rows up from where westbrook caught that tip. I really felt like I was close enough to dive out and bat away the ball. I remember wishing I had at least tried.
Then I had to turn around and explain to my 75 year old grandfather and the few remaining members of his class reunion that we had just lost.

I'm convinced that the main reason Kordell had a career in the NFL is because of that game. Everyone saw that throw and figured he could sling it all over the place.
Totally unrelated, but I actually saw Kordell in Pittsburgh a few weeks ago, at Jerome Bettis' bar. I wanted to punch him for the 1994 game, but refrained as he had a few big dudes with him, and I didn't want to be banned from the bar, either.

In my opinion you should have tried talking to him. If you told him you were a Michigan man he'd probably buy you a beer.
Besides they guy made a hell of a throw. I have no ill feelings toward him for it. It sucks we lost, but he didn't go to O$U, Notre Dame or Ski Mask U so I can't hate him.

I saw that on the information for that event on my TV when I saw "College Football" on ESPN Classic, and I'm like, I think I'll pass on this one, even though I'm far too young to have any recollection of this game whatsoever.

I was working midnights, and got home took a quick nap, then went to this game. Saw the disaster, went home, took another hour nap then had to go back to work. Guys that worked for me bought morning newspapers and plastered sports pages all over my desk area. Haven't felt that bad since, well, this entire M sports season.

why in the hell that a slow-footed LB like Steve Morrison was even on the field for that last play. What in god's name was the DC thinking—that Colorado was going to run the ball or throw a screen pass? When you combine that bizarre personnel decision with the fact that they only rushed 3 so Westbrook had all day to run around and then plant his feet for the heave, it still makes me ill.
The DC was Lloyd Carr.

That game was bad. And I was there. Although I was too young to truly comprehend the magnitude of suck-tude contained by the game - I do have an interesting story. My dad thought the game was over, so we watched it all unfold from 60-or so rows up at the top of the tunnel of section 6. I don't know if you could have a last second play unfold any worse from a Michigan stand-point. Everything went Colorado's way.
