2015 Cotton Bowl Open Thread

The Michigan State Spartans versus the Alabama Crimson Tide.  This will be a fistfight.  Saban against his old team, the much disrespected, huge chip-on-the-shoulder Spartans.

Please Bama please...

Reason for worry - MSU has not lost to a non spread offense since early 2013 when all ND did was chuck balls up 30 yds down the field and prayed for PI calls.  Bama QB has to do something tonight.

Expect both defenses to do a good job on the others run game - if you just try to run all day (bama) it will be an OSU-MSU game outcome so dont do that game plan.

2 damn years in a row sitting here rooting for those dirty cheats from Bama to win. Ugh.

Alabama crushed everyone they played, with the exception of Ole Miss, when they had 5 turnovers. Bama shut down LSU& Fornette. Sparty was outgained in 3 consecutive games, including against a MAC opponent (no MACtion disrespect intended). they needs the flukiest of fluke plays to beat Michigan. they Needed OSU and Urbz to shit themselves in a rainstorm. Roll Tide.

Alabama's offense cannot be one-dimensional this game. MSU is great against the run and they get their best run support secondary player back from injury in RJ Williamson.

Best case scenario is MSU gets rolled tonight and Michigan wins tomorrow. People always remember who played/won last. It won't matter that they were in the playoff.

That being said, I hate both teams.

I honestly don't understand any M fans rooting for MSU. I have so many friends and family members who are the cockiest most obnoxious new-money fans on the planet. Most know jack shit about football and have absolutely zero self awareness for their programs and its place in history of the game. I can't ever root for MSU. Sorry not sorry.

They also have loved ones, including siblings, parents, and spouses, who would be over the moon once in a lifetime ecstatic if MSU wins.

I have a sibling and a parent who would feel that way if MSU were to win.

I understand how a U of M fan could want their loved ones to enjoy their sporting fandom life.

I am not that guy.

I have plenty of friends and family whose happiness I deeply care about that would've been completely ecstatic if MSU won.  I was rooting for my friends and family, not really MSU, though.  Having said that... there was definitely a sense of satisfaction for me when they got destroyed underneath the sport's brightest spotlight.
