Good for Ron Bellamy, but WBHS isn't very good at football. Hopefully he can turn that program around. I interviewed for a job at WBHS a few years ago. I met the former coach and Ron Bellamy while I was at the school for the interview, but about 400 other people applied for the job, too, and I didn't get it. BTW, people in West Bloomfield are uppity pricks. And I'm not just saying that because I didn't get the job. I knew several people in college who went to WBHS or Andover, and they were all spoiled.

I knew I'd take some flak for that comment about West Bloomfield. I'm sure a bunch of people on this board are from there or have a good friend who is. Oh well. Stereotypes aren't always right. But honestly, I know several people from West Bloomfield, and they were all spoiled. I'm sure there are some great people there. I just don't have the privilege of having met those ones.

It wasn't a particularly wise comment. While stereotpyes may have some truth to some people of a particular group, stereotypes as a whole are never right b/c they assign a particular trait to everyone in the group being discussed. I don't really need to explain this to you. To be fair, I bet a portion of the negging is because people expect more from you - for better or for worse. With great [knowledge] comes great responsibility. (Though, I didn't neg you (not that you care).)

OH YEAH!! It's about time we opened up a West Bloomfield pipeline! Hello in-state recruiting dominance! Now we just need to get somebody in at Andover and Grosse Point!

Hopefully, he can turn the program. I'm curious if any of their fball players have gone on to a D-I school and played. I live just south of WB and can't recall seeing any.

The West Bloomfield comment was tongue-in-cheek anyway. I thought that was apparent in the first place, but regardless, no hard feelings.

I grew up in WB but didnt go to WBHS (thank god).. Its a tuff place to turn a program around but the school has a good numbers of students. In a numbers game there has to be a few good athletes around. No, I was not an uppity prick... most days EDIT: Not spoiled either.. My student loans will prove it to you!

I am a current player on WBHS varsity football and Ron Bellamy being our new head coach will turn the program around. The team is a good team, we went 5-4 last season which is a winning record. Our team has tons of talent and many players who have the potential to reach D-1 colleges. The season before the last one, we had reached playoffs. This new season will be starting soon and we may advance further. The Varsity team has always been an average team but has never been a great team. This year will be the turn around for the team, with a new head coach the team May advance and have a higher chance to winning state.
