Carlo Kemp wins Denver Post Golden Helmet award - best player in Colorado

Submitted by Unsalted on

Congratulations to Carlo Kemp, winner of the Denver Post's Golden Helmet award, link. The Golden Helmut award has been given annually to the top Colorado prep football player for the past 65 years.

Carlo was also named the DP All-Colorado team, along with 2017 target Dylan McCaffrey. Dylan's brother Christian won the Golden Helmet in 2013.

I highly recommend visiting the Denver Post link and watching the interview with Carlo and reading his open letter published in the Post. I am very excited about this young man coming to Michigan. It's clear why JH was doing cartwheels when he committed!

Edit: Helmut to helmet - never trust spell check 100% ha

thoughtful, intelligent, and well spoken.

Being in Colorado, it has been fun to watch him!

Now let's get Dylan! Kid is a stud!

"In this day and age of bombastic narcissists who get all of the attention, he's really that kind of modest and respectful, and has personal integrity," Wozniak said.

Big award to cap a HS career. UM is getting a good player and it appears a very solid person.

Hope he earns a lot of playing time on Brown's D and turns into a dynamic Buck or DE or ILB.

Huge accomplishment for him.  It looks like we've found our future defensive captain to go along with our likely offensive captain (Peters).  The future is bright...GO BLUE!
