Except Fitz was a good back with a 1000 yard season under his belt and Green was coming in under the coaching and tutelage of Brady Hoke's staff.

Our current backs are....not so good....and Walker is coming in under the coaching and tutelage of Jim Harbaugh's staff.

Don't kill our optimism!

I don't remember where, but I seem to remember an end-around or two where Smith blocked very well. Or something like that. Small sample but early returns are good. When I first heard the Smith-as-FB idea I was pretty dismissive, but if Walker or someone else (Higdon, et al) is ready to go I'm all for it. Harbaugh fullbacks run well and run often, they block, they can be useful receivers... if Smith can be an effective run-blocker he can be the ultimate uber-FB that the defense actually has to account for everywhere on the field, that can pummel and maim unprepared defenders with impunity. Think of all the personnel options that provides. He can still do TB work, and if you throw Jabrill Peppers out there you have a grouping that could spread 4-wide or line up in a jumbo I, and run or throw from both.

How many EEs is a program allowed to have?

So far it's Davis, Walker, and Peters, and I believe Bush is planning to be an EE too.  Was there anyone else?
