Jabrill Injury Rumor?

Submitted by MGoSwilly on

TIFWIW- Friend of mine who is an alum just sent me a text saying that his relative treated Jabrill Peppers at an Ann Arbor hospital after he punched glass and tore a ligament in his arm/wrist. Apparently out for the bowl game. Still nothing being reported, but just thought I'd pass it along. Apparently he has been seen in a cast around campus.

This is a rumor on Penn State's 247 site. Has anyone heard anything about this?

As someone who works in and has worked in the medical field since 1999, in this case you'd be looking at a $10,000 if it's a first time violation. Fines range from $100 to 1.5 million depending on the situation. Most people would not be fired for a first time violation, maybe suspended but, definitely counseled. That being said, you'd have to be able to prove who leaked the information, which is nearly impossible in most cases.

Dune, and you're smart to heed the warning.... many people in management positions think HIPAA doesn't apply to them and reveal information about employees, to other employees, that they have no business discussing.
