You can still run offenses with cuts closer to the basket(while keeping good spacing) to at least put a bit more pressure on help side. All they do to give any pretense of attack is the dribble back cut. Other than that, YIKES.

EDIT: I also acknowledge B is a good coach and knows what he is doing.

OK, are they switching or hedging on screens. Gibson stays with the guy up top and Vogrich goes with him, too. Most of the time they switch but they both chased the ball and *easy bucket*

pretty uninspiring effort on defense...i fully recognize that i will be negged, but this performance summarizes exactly why i do not like JB or his system. with or without manny, theres zero pressure, no intensity, no motion, and tons of three with no opportunities for second chance points. this could get ugly...

I don't think there's been a lack of effort on defense. Even Knight praised how hard they were closing out on shots. Purdue's guys are taller and stronger at every position other than Sims maybe being stronger at the 5. This is an athletic and talent mismatch, not effort in my opinion.

So, all the pressure against UCONN against a team much taller than us, wasn't his system. The intensity that brought the win, not his system. The threes that went down and ultimately gave us the advantage, not his system. His system is predicated on making threes. We're not making them today. It's a little more difficult to fully run your system without the player you spend the most time practicing it with. Don't get me wrong. It's not working today, but we'll talk when this team wins a big game.

somewhat of a fluke. They barely made it in and beat clemson team that has not been out of the first round in 100 years. What I'm saying is this guy hasn't brought in any talent. That is proven night in and out. He also allows his teams to collapse at the wrong times.

That "fluke" was better than any season our program had in the 10 years before that. As for "collapsing at the wrong times," I distinctly remember last year's team rallying late in the season and scoring huge wins against Purdue and at Minnesota, but maybe I'm imagining it.

Keep in mind you only lost 2 walk on players. That should say a lot.

Thanks for visiting RCMB. Why don't you create another 5 page game thread about a team you claim to be overwhelmingly better than.
