Citrus Bowl Tickets
The Florida Citrus Sports Director was on local sports radio this morning in Orlando. He said that the game is sold out. Has anyone had any success buying tickets this morning through Mgoblue? I am trying to buy four, but I keep getting told that they are unable to process the request. The phone lines are also overwhelmed.
Update: The phone message says that Michigan has sold out its allotment.

It's a Florida homegame almost and I got lucky and got 1 ticket 6 rows up on our side. You might have to pay more now on the open markets .

I hope that everyone who has tickets either sells them to people willing to attend or attends themselves. I haven't been to a bowl game before, is it generally a better or worse atmosphere than a normal Gameday?
December 8th, 2015 at 9:04 AM ^
However I went to Dallas for the game against Alabama... It was definitely a different atmosphere. Nothing beats a home game atmosphere though... Unless we make it to a Rose Bowl semi-final/playoff final....
December 8th, 2015 at 9:05 AM ^
Different in a good or bad way?
December 8th, 2015 at 9:20 AM ^
Probably bad way. I'm sure bowl games are fine and can be really fun, but there is no possible way it comes close to game day in Ann Arbor.
The Rose Bowl or a playoff game may be the only exceptions. Those still aren't the same as a game at the big house, but I'm sure they're incredible in their own ways.

I went to Dallas. The atmosphere was ok. Probably would have been better if Michigan had been more competitive. Was also at rose bowl in 2005 vs Texas. Atmosphere was incredible had a lot to do with the game going down to the wire.

Atmosphere vs Texas was amazing. Best Ive been too, on par or better then 97 when I was there

I went to the Outback Bowl when we played against South Carolina. My friend worked for ticketmaster at the time and gave me 2 tickets. Unfortunately, they were right in the middle of the Gamecock section. Was tired of hearing "Go Cocks!"

It would bother me to if l was sitting around a bunch of guys shouting anything to do with "cocks".
December 8th, 2015 at 9:14 AM ^
I grew up in Florida so we would go to the bowl game whenever Michigan was in a Florida bowl. It's not the same atmosphere, but it's still great. There's this comradery with people who often only get to go to games when they are local, but still love the team.
December 8th, 2015 at 9:27 AM ^
Basically an NFL environment for two college teams. But you can drink at the game, so it's not all bad.
December 8th, 2015 at 10:38 AM ^
Rose Bowl has terrible traffic getting in and out, but the atmosphere is what you'd expect. But I've been to Orlando and the traffic for the Citrus Bowl has been much better than Ann Arbor on game day. It wasn't a sellout that year, so this year may be different.
December 8th, 2015 at 9:05 AM ^
I was wating for 8:30 to hit and then found out they were sold out. The last thing I want is to buy tiks somewhere else and have to sit with annoying redneck Gator fans on a Holiday.
December 8th, 2015 at 9:16 AM ^
There are some resale tickets here!
Also, the endzone ones aren't too bad! There are tickets in Section 240 which is on the Michigan side that are actually cheaper than the ones the AD was selling!
December 8th, 2015 at 10:05 AM ^
Appreciate that!
December 8th, 2015 at 9:19 AM ^
By the way, I have friends who are in control at the alumni association and they gave confirmed that the AA is staying at the team hotel.

Tell us more about your powerful friends please. We're all waiting with bated breath.
December 8th, 2015 at 1:52 PM ^
Did they seize control by force, like the Denzel mutany in Crimson Tide, or more like when Sir Larry Wildman bought out Gordon Gekko's shares of Anacott Steel in Wall Street?
Please advice.

I got tickets from the Citrus Bowl website yesterday. Upper decks seats, but just happy to be going.

Really want to go to this game but the flights are so damn expensive. Anybody found a decent price flight? Is there another airport within driving distance to Orlando that I don't know about?

Usually can have cheaper flights. Also check out Fort Myers (RSW) as they could have decent flights and it's about a 3 hour drive to Orlando. And Jacksonville is only 2 hours away.
December 8th, 2015 at 9:34 AM ^
Have flown into fort Myers before. But a 3 hour drive seems a little much. Maybe I will check Tampa. Would be taking a 6 year old so I have to consider her patience.

but Southwest is cutting their Orlando flights. and MBS is always expensive. Be prepared to drive to Detroit and pay more.
December 8th, 2015 at 9:35 AM ^
Yeah Mbs is way too expensive and no direct flights. Flint doesn't really have anything either. I'm sure a lot of families are going to Orlando during Christmas break for Disney etc. so that doesn't help price or availability.

A friend who frequently flies to Florida from Detroit said that the cheapest rates can usually be found by flying Flint to Tampa. That doesn't appeal to me, but could be something worth looking into.

My mother flies in to Sanford from NE PA and its either delayed or they don't have a plane. She sat in Sanford for 10 hours because they couldnt find a plane. I just wanted to give you a heads up.
December 8th, 2015 at 9:46 AM ^
I found one on spirit leaving NYE at about 6:30, coming back on Saturday. It set me back $300 (plus whatever it costs me for air on the plane knowing spirit).. Best deal I saw

Jacksonville is probably even closer.
December 8th, 2015 at 10:33 AM ^
Jacksonville and Tampa are both reasonably close and are typically cheaper to get to.
December 8th, 2015 at 9:35 AM ^
Try Orlando Sanford airport. It's a smaller airport on the north side of Orlando. I've flown out of there a few times. It's small and easy to get through security.

I don't have the section/row yet. The tickets should be in hand in the next week or so. Bought them during the pre-order from athletic department. In Michigan section. $120 each ($240 total) which is what I paid.
Send me an e-mail at [email protected] if interested.

Got 2 from the ticket office at PL9, says general admission on seat location. Anyone with previous trips to the Citrus know how that works?
December 8th, 2015 at 10:35 AM ^
I got 3 in PL9, which is annoying because this is on the Florida side even though they were sold thru the AD. I live in Florida, so my plan is to try and exchange them with a UF fan down here. But, since the AD only had PL7 and PL9 available this morning, maybe these are UM sections?
December 8th, 2015 at 11:00 AM ^
I don't think that PL9 is a section. It's a Price Level. If you bought from the AD they will be on the Michigan side, your section you won't know until you get the tickets.
December 8th, 2015 at 11:38 AM ^
First of all, thank you for the information. Is there any indication as to what level the seats will be? Did I just become the proud owner of upper bowl endzone seats?
December 8th, 2015 at 1:11 PM ^
They're most likely corner seats, not true "end zone" ones.
Not sure if they will be upper or lower level, but the Citrus Bowl isn't that big so there really isn't a bad seat in the house.
Upper Bowl in the Citrus Bowl is probably not much higher/farther than row 45/50 in The Big House
December 8th, 2015 at 11:03 AM ^
PL9 is price level 9 which is the ticket office told me was 200 level on the Michigan sideline. They won't know the exact section and row until until Monday or Tuesday of next week. They hope to mail out tickets next week sometime.

Google flights lets you search large groups of airports for both origin and destination, and then will further suggest changes to dates to get cheapest fares. If you are really flexible, it's a great tool. Check it out:

Any advice on flights? Looking like this year is way more expensive than when we were in Tampa 3 years ago
December 8th, 2015 at 1:12 PM ^
Easy in and out both places. Was just over $400 including all the upcharges, taxes and other bs charges.
December 8th, 2015 at 10:38 AM ^
The band will be in section 145, Michigan has sections 131-143, Plaza 33-43, not sure after that. For those of you who are looking at where to buy tickets.
