That kid deserves to be there!

A large number of voters waited and watched the conference championship games before voting. Their top three votes went to the three guys playing. As such, there was a large gap in voting between #3 and 4/5, so #4 and #5 were not invited.
He also thought Henry would win because of what he’s done in the last half of the season (while the voters were paying attention). Not necessarily agreeing with him; just throwing it out for comment.

I think you also need to mention that Baker Mayfield was not invited. Traveshamockery!

Mayfield deserved to be invited.

Are we just gonna forget about Dalvin Cook?
Dude's been a monster at FSU this year.
December 7th, 2015 at 8:52 PM ^
When has he ever been a legitimate Heisman candidate? I've barely heard about him this year
December 8th, 2015 at 1:07 AM ^
Look up his stats. Probably the best back in the nation but has gotten 0 hype.

Bullshit. Can't believe Reynolds and Mayfield got stiffed. Not sure if Mayfield deserved to win it but he was good as hell down the stretch and his play at least merited an invite.
Just hope Henry doesn't win it - seems like there's a lot of Bama/SEC bias and lobbying going on. On Saturday, CBS must have said a dozen times that he was 'the presumptive winner of the Heisman' and I was like 'huh?'. He's pretty good but not amazing and if there is any year in which the Heisman is a toss-up, its this year.
December 8th, 2015 at 1:13 AM ^
I mean, to be fair, Derrick Henry IS the leading rusher in the country, with the most touchdowns.
That's not the end-all be-all, but it's kind of hard to argue bias like he's not deserving.

Reynolds and Mayfield absolutely deserved to be there.
Mayfield has better numbers than the last 2 Oklahoma QB's to WIN the Heisman. And Reynolds was on another planet this year as well.
You can argue that what Derrick Henry did this year is the least impressive of the candidates, yet, he's probably going to win.
I'm hoping for McCaffrey now.

Who was invited?
December 7th, 2015 at 6:53 PM ^
McCaffrey from Stanford
Watson from Clemson

Reminds me of when Ingram won over Gerhart even though, Ingram's stats weren't as good, which was weird.
i thought i heard the other day that McCaffrey broke Barry Sanders' single season all-purpose yard record which is pretty damn impressive.
December 7th, 2015 at 7:02 PM ^
Mayfield deserved it more over Reynolds. Reynolds plays in a pretty bad conference.

Half of McCaffrey's games weren't seen by the more population dense eastern US because all of their games are at like 8 and 10 pm.
December 7th, 2015 at 7:38 PM ^
I live on the west coast and have watched about a half dozen Stanford games. McCaffrey is almost as much fun to watch as Denard. Almost.

Except Stanford plays Defense

Christian McCaffrey should win. He broke Barry Sander's single season record. Thats Heisman worthy

Oh yeah. That is true. Well, what he achieved is impressive regardless and among the three invited, I think he is most deserving.
December 7th, 2015 at 7:42 PM ^
to do that though...
December 7th, 2015 at 8:09 PM ^
He did it in fewer touches though. Still not anywhere close to how good Sanders season was though. 39 TDs. McCaffrey also had about 1000 yards from kick/punt returns. Barry was all rushing/receiving.

How they left off Reynolds and Mayfield is beyond me. Especially in a year where there has been no clear frontrunner for the last month or two.
December 7th, 2015 at 7:22 PM ^
December 7th, 2015 at 7:22 PM ^
- McCaffrey
- Henry
- Mayfield
- Watson
- Reynolds
Reynolds is more of a lifetime achievement award, but he deserves to be there in NYC. I was certain Mayfield was at least going to get the call to go.
December 7th, 2015 at 8:40 PM ^
Dalvin Cook should be 3rd.

I don't know if it used to be better, but there's a simple equation for winning.
- Be a great QB/RB on an elite team
- or be an epic QB/RB on a good team
- or be Charles Woodson
anyone else is out
