People will ask this a lot, and it is ultimately a Brian / Seth type decision if it ever happens, but I think the reluctance to change it stems from the fact they don't necessarily want to discourage people from trying to contribute as soon as they are able, but I do understand that some folks don't really show that they've paid much attention to some board traditions / strictures / actual rules when they do start making threads. People bring this to myself and the other mods quite a bit - this one is above our pay grade.

wonder if you could help me out. I actually tried to look at older threads by hitting the previous thread numbers at the bottom of the MGoBoard, but every time I do this, it just sends me to older Diaries only. I do not know the method of getting to older MGoBoard threads. Why am I sent to Diaries?

Also. are Diaries and MGoboard threads kept in different places in archives? If so, why?

thanks

I have this issue as well. Hard to search and or scroll through. Sometimes I'm busy at work and can't check every :45 minutes. The board fills up with snowflakes, and you can't find the good posts. Upping the points for posting would help, but the negs are discouraging enough.

I admit I was coming here to be a jerk and mention how its been posted already.  But I hadn't seen that each position group is wearing a different design. Thats pretty cool.  Has any other team had different helmets in use at the same game?

USC and UCLA both wore home unis a few years ago. IIRC one got a 15 yd penalty on the kickoff becUse of it. Looked great.

Soccer teams do this often. I think as a viewer I like it. But I once heard that networks years ago required light vs dark uniforms because the guys in the truck, doing real time replays, had B&W monitors so they needed that contrast to tell the teams apart easily. Red v blue uniforms drive them nuts. I assume that in 2015 that is not an issue anymore.

USC and UCLA have always worn home uniforms for their game. The penalty issue was a result of a shortlived NCAA rule. IIRC, the penalty was a timeout, and the teams just agree to even it out and the non-penalized team to take a token TO. The rule was changed after maybe two years of that.

White away uniforms came as a result of black-and-white televisions, not just monitors. In the early days of TV, they realized it was virtually impossible to tell the teams apart, especially when helmets didn't have a lot of variation, either. Thus, white away uniforms. It also meant the advent of "TV numbers" on the shoulders so a camera shooting players from the sidelines could catch the jersey numbers.

Im usual not a fan of the new unis but these are pretty sick. Still have to root for army though. As a Michigan fan we should be able to identify with the last decade they have had in the rivalry

Anything to compensate for the navy truthfully being overrated. And don't give me that seal team six bullshit. If delta had the a/o of paki-afghan in 2011, they would have raided bin laden instead. They just happened to have Iraq. Only time I saw the navy in a combat zone was when they were inspecting our travel bags at Al-Asad serving as a TSA unit. Real super cool.

Ok I'm done drinking.
