Good thinking, you should let the coaches know!!
January 19th, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
They need to start a hot line just for this kind of critical tip.
January 19th, 2010 at 6:15 PM ^
So you're saying we need to work on the zone read?
January 19th, 2010 at 6:17 PM ^
Personally, I think we need to work on scoring more points than the other team. More than any other factor, outscoring the other team is strongly correlated with winning.
/sarcasm.
January 19th, 2010 at 10:38 PM ^
remember though, correlation does not imply causation...
January 20th, 2010 at 12:01 AM ^
So stipulated. I cannot unequivocally claim that outscoring the opponent is causally linked to winning, despite a host of double-blind studies that postulate a linkage.
January 19th, 2010 at 6:17 PM ^
...that I am pretty terrible at the zone read.
January 19th, 2010 at 6:18 PM ^
I'm pretty sure Rich Rod has never heard of the zone read. You should definitely call him up and offer to be OC. Calvin Magee is a bum anyway.
January 19th, 2010 at 6:20 PM ^
over/under on OP age: 15?
January 19th, 2010 at 6:22 PM ^
How do we show it? Neg you?
January 19th, 2010 at 6:58 PM ^
Haha touche, I'd say it looks like the general consensus is under then.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:01 PM ^
I thought you were going to be bashed for sure.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:30 PM ^
Haha, there should be a required multiple choice question about the 2001 squad in order to post a new forum topic.
January 19th, 2010 at 6:21 PM ^
posts as intelligent and creative as this one.
January 19th, 2010 at 6:30 PM ^
I think the key to this off-season is learning a way to let Denard be an RB that starts 15 yards behind the line, gets to full speed, takes the hand off and just runs through everyone into the endzone. I think if we do that, we will be better.
January 19th, 2010 at 6:32 PM ^
We should just put him in as the punter. Instead of punting he just takes the snap and runs. He'll have broken the sound barrier by the time he hits the line of scrimmage and will be traveling at Warp 3 when he crosses the end zone then Warp 9.9 by the time he leaves the planet's atmosphere to join his friend Space Emperor Zoltan Mesko.

I am hoping that Will "Hanger-up There" Hagerup does a good job of filling in for the Space Emperor Zoltan.
January 19th, 2010 at 6:40 PM ^
Does Will Hagerup have dreads?
January 19th, 2010 at 6:46 PM ^
if we complete more forward passes, our offense would be helped out a lot. I'm fucking calling that right now.
January 19th, 2010 at 6:47 PM ^
Don't give a shit. Go home and play with your kids.
January 19th, 2010 at 9:24 PM ^
You handled that well, my friend.
January 19th, 2010 at 6:46 PM ^
Revolutionary. Please continue to enlighten us common folk.

Brilliant in its simplicity.

Just wanted to share a random thought I had with the whole community. That is all
January 19th, 2010 at 7:04 PM ^
I like it!
Multiplicity reference, nice.
January 19th, 2010 at 6:56 PM ^
Ignoring the painful writing ability of our OP, whose favorite ice cream is probably Superman, he raises a good point. Tate was just flat out bad at selling the read this last year, and Denard didn't even run it. I love them both, but they need to do some work.
January 19th, 2010 at 6:58 PM ^
I'm sorry, but was that a dig at liking superman ice cream? Because I love it. It's delicious.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:12 PM ^
a) Fresh Meat likes pizza
b) Fresh Meat likes superman ice cream
c) The zone read is good. We should do it better.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:17 PM ^
Honestly. I don't care if I get called a 5 year old every time I order it, I will never stop getting Superman.
Which they DON'T have in CA. Lamest state ever.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:59 PM ^
Have you ever tried a Superman shake? It's gray and it is DELICIOUS!!! NO SUGARCOAT!!!
January 19th, 2010 at 8:16 PM ^
After you eat superman or blue moon, your poop turns green? I think that info is more informative then this original post...
January 19th, 2010 at 9:48 PM ^
Ummm...what do you mean "turns" green?
January 20th, 2010 at 8:49 AM ^
... It is because you're pooping out all the kryptonite.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:00 PM ^
You should have left the original comment up. It made me laugh out loud.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:03 PM ^
Yeah, but it was a bit harsh-- especially if it really is a kid.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:10 PM ^
I'm not sure how much available space is left on Teh Internets... But I think a post arguing that "being better at a staple of this offense would help this offense... so we should get better at it" is probably not a great way to spend any of the remaining space.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:00 PM ^
I have not been working on the zone read during the off-season.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:03 PM ^
Apparently you didn't get enough attention when you posted the same thing here a week ago so you had to start your own thread about it?
January 19th, 2010 at 7:11 PM ^
That's a big thread.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:16 PM ^
right to his specific comment so you don't have to go looking through it all.
January 20th, 2010 at 12:25 AM ^
TWSS.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:07 PM ^
That's it!! I've been trying to figure out what we were missing for a couple of months. Thanks, random thought poster. Now could you get to work on breaking down the defensive film, GRob is awaiting your analysis.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:37 PM ^
Superman ice cream is awesome...
If I were to win a million dollars I'd be a millionaire...
I know who's buried in Grant's tomb!
January 19th, 2010 at 7:38 PM ^
You know what would be even more awesome? If we ran the spread-option and become the leading rushing team in the B10.
January 19th, 2010 at 8:50 PM ^
We need to bring in some SEC speed! Because if we are fast and we run the spread we get fast people in space and then they can run past the slow B10 right?...Right? (Sarcasm) The poster may be smarter then RR. Good lord.

I liked your insight more when you had the giant dick picture.......
