I'll never forget how much the national media made of JH's assumed adversion to recruiting when the possibiliy of his return to UM was being discussed. They were so wrong on so many levels...

That was one of the aspects of the narrative pushed so hard by the NFL beat writers that I never understood, especially since Harbaugh has turned recruiting here into the social media savvy "Michigan Experience", if you will, or at least he has been instrumental in that shift. The improvement seen in all his college stops so far would hardly be possible if Harbaugh found recruiting to be a drag.

The funniest part of this is that the NFL slappies STILL don't really believe that Harbaugh could be a college coach, hence all of the Colts nonsense.

Every so often you see a team's writers explore the "what would it take to get Harbaugh here" angle. It's equal parts frustrating and hilarious. Like he's looking for jobs. Like he's not having massive success (and apparently quite a bit of fun) here at Michigan.

This is perfect example of people getting so engrossed in a narrative that, even when proven wrong, they can't see reality.

It's one of the biggest differences between the pro game and college.  If you are a group of people desperately trying to convince yourself of something tht you have basically made up, it is the perfect target.  And it just goes to show you how little they knew him, or what he was really going to do.  They just made it all up.

remember Wolverines Dominate?

I initially thought that he was Wolverines Devotee's super mean alter ego.  Now I think that he exists in two or three different profiles and splits his venomous material using all of them so he won't get sent to Bolivia.  I still feel his presence on the Board.

Yes, he has the money to have cake whenever he wants, but as you age, we all want to be responsible with our bodies. These guys recruit hundreds of players, one is likely to have a birthday soon.

So when the wife is ribbing you for having a little cake:

"Honey, it was this recruit's birthday, and we wanted to show him some love, and, well, he couldn't eat it because that'd be a violation and he wasn't really in town anyway, so, you know, it would have gone to waste... I guess now it'll just go to my waist."

Kudos to Harbaugh, that's a great idea! I'm actually more curious to know what in the world is all over the whiteboard behind the coaches in the picture. I can make out a snowman on the left and some sort of four-legged creature on the far right. Also, who drew them? It sort of looks like the whiteboard I have after I let my toddler at it.

the remanents of their defensive gameplan for Indiana.  As is evident from their intended deployment of an unidentified 4 legged creature during the 3rd overtime, the staff was prepared to take some rather drastic measure to win that game.

that is looking ahead to this week.  There could be some accumulation this week through the midwest and the Northeast.  Hackenberg does not have the greatest poise and they think he will throw at the snowman if he believed it is open and then a defender can spring out from behind it and pick it off.  The preparation of this staff is really unbelievable.

The personal birthday wishes, the twitter edits from Aaron Bills and the active twitter account in general by JH are great small examples of the emphasis this staff has put on nailing the little things that are important in modern day recruiting.  Now let's please land Gary, Walker and Nauta.  Thanks.

I am just enjoying the hell out of Harbough.  He is an amazing coach, fascinating guy and really funny at times.  I expected a great coach.  I did not expect a phenomenon.

Despite the MANBALL / Back-to-Bo-Basics narrative, this is a very modern and innovative coaching staff.

They are not just recreating Michigan circa 1973.
