...makes me the opposite of happy. The opposite of happy is sad. I am sad.

just needed a break, kind of like our defense on Saturday.  Is has been a grind, so they both took a couple hours off and now it is back to business. (Seriously, the arm "tackles" gave me flashbacks to Texas, App. State and other gems of the past - hope that was a one game thing)

Saturday resulted from a couple of things.  I think they were so focused on stopping them in the pass game that they literally were not prepared for the ground attack and that, quite frankly, the defense really did not take Indiana that seriously.  You couple that with Glasgow's absense and you have a recipe for a "wtf" game.  Our defense is not the dominant world beater we may have thought, but even without Glasgow I think that PSU and OSU are going to find the sledding much tougher than they think.

Does PSU have a Jordan Howard that they've been keeping under wraps?*

That's surprising.

*Avoids obvious joke** about PSU having experience in keeping things under wraps, because of (i) taste and (ii) fact that "PSU Douche Fan =/= PSU JoePa Apologist - although my hunch is there's a big intersection in the Venn diagram of those two groups.

**Seizes opportunity to underscore that PSU still has a shit load of vile JoePa Apologist fans, because to Hell with that lot.

People tend to forget that IU has two NFL-caliber linemen on that line, along with a senior center.  That's a really good line in Bloomington.  Second, Howard has gashed a few good B1G teams so far, including a strong Iowa squad at a clip that was above what they did to Michigan.

Obviously the Michigan DL disappointed (esp. without Glasgow), but it's not like they were up against a crap OL.

It wasn't just Howard, but whenever he's been in the lineup and heathy IU has been able to run on teams.  I mean, he gashed Iowa last week about as badly as he did UM.  The defense was definitely hurt without Glasgow in the lineup, but Howard is a legit all-conference player and has a veteran line in front of him.  Even with a fully-healthy line I don't anyone expected to shut him down.  I figured he'd get about 130 yards on the day.

He is probably in the running with Peppers for B1G Freshamn of the year.  He has won it a couple times as well.  He had a nice game against us, a little under 200 yards and a TD called back on a hold.  Their Oline, though, is not anywhere near as solid as Indiana (that was weird to type) and I'm not sure their OC can figure out how to exploit anything Indiana showed them.

but then you add MGoBlog service interuption, and my stress level increases dramatically.  Thank goodness MGoBlog is back up and running.  Now my sucky Monday at work seems a little bit better.
