Who is the Crisler Arena PA announcer? They should definitely have him announce football games too! I love how excited he gets!

I'm not a fan of partisan announcers who try to create a home atmosphere. The announcer should be purely informational, and the crowd should be able to provide the atmosphere on its own.

I would love to see Mason get a one-game announcing stint at Crisler and all the wacky nicknames he'd make up for the starters.

"The small forward out of DEEETROIT, wearing the MAIZE AND BLUE NUMBAH THREEEEE, MAN-NYYYY freaky deaky FRESHHHHHH HAR-RISSSSSS!!"

and let's not forget "MICH-I-GAN BAS-KET-BALL!!"

Count me amongst those who find him beyond annoying. It falls in line with the false excitement of a turnover being brought to you by BELLE TIRE. Gross.

I know Carl Grapentine at one time did a classical radio show in... Illinois I think it was. I wouldn't be against throwing some money at him to move him to MI to do the basketball PA as well as the football PA. He's like butter.

He's not THAT bad. I mean, sure there are some lame parts to his, you know, performance, but in general Michigan b-ball could do a whole lot worse.

Anyone else notice he changed the emphasis on Manny Harris to Manny now? (he dragged out the Harris before, I just thought the change was interesting)

Either way, thank goodness we're moaning about this and not a LOSS.

The new hockey guy is too Specs Howard for my taste too. It seems like only a matter of time before "Its a beautiful day for some foooootttballl" at Michigan Stadium as well.

As was previously said, his name is Bob and he's a really friendly guy. I agree that he's far cry from PA announcers like Budd Lynch, but I'm still ok with his announcing style.

When the team is playing as bad as it WAS, you have to try and do something to get the crowd into it. The dude is just being a team player. Besides, it's basketball.
