I was wrong about Rudock self-negbang

I've been bitching about Rudock all season. Well, not insulting, but clearly thought he was below our standard. I thought he handicapped us. But he's made of tough stuff.

Neg me please I deserve it

but in fairness to all, rudock started slow this year but has of course wonderfully picked up speed.   at the start of the year it was easy to doubt.  now, he's hitting on all cylinders.

Rudock has grown exponentially under this staff. He was the difference maker in this game.
No need to neg you...we have all been conditioned to expect the worst....it is a new team with an excellent coaching staff.
D sure missed some key players and clearly had an off day against the run, but a road win against a testy opponent is just fine with me.

My thoughts too - he was bad/medicore in the first couple of games. But he is putting in the work and listening to the coaching staff and it shows. A lot of throws he made today the recievers weren't even off there routes yet....and the deep ball looked really good too. JAKE BRADY!

throws with pressure about to hit him, IU couldn't cover but throws were on the money anyways. Was also excellent at picking his spots to scramble and finishing those runs.

the offense has done enough to win every game:  35-7, 28-7, 31-0 (and those games were over at halftime), 28-0, 38-0 (over at halftime), 23-27, 29-26, 49-16.  Rudock might not have been all world in most of those games like he's been the last 2. but other than Utah he hasn't really been bad.

Rudock has won the past two games and he will have to win the next two because this team's ground game doesn't scare anyone.

Don't feel bad. I thought all year that we had a pretty good defense (especially run defense), but after watching Indiana run it up the gut without any effort all day today, I realized it was just a mirage. We're all wrong sometimes.

Our defense was definitely disappointing, a real worry going into a stretch run that features serious running games. Perhaps we get Ryan back and correct some errors and get back to a solid D again.

But if this game was the game that we needed to put Rudock under pressure to dissect the defense and execute his throws, it was worth it.

Because the game that matters is Ohio State. Even if our D is brilliant, we need to score points. That means we need Rudock to make plays. And he, out of necessity, made a ton of them today. And that encourages me at least as much going into The Game as the defense's flaws discouraged.

Because he can do it.

Beat Ohio.

He has improved so much. The criticism early in the year was fair but I am proud of where he has gotten to. Hopefully he gets his chance at an NFL tryout
