Iowa Hype Video with OSU as Evil Empire
Here is an Iowa hype video with tOSU cast as the evil empire. So, my preferred narrative obviously is for Michigan to win five more games. But I still think this is an excellent hype video. Regardless of Iowa or Michigan, I think Ohio State has definitely been the evil empire.

I know how it's supposed to be pronounced, but I can't see his name and not read it as BEAT HARD every single time.

Rudock vs. BEAT HARD for the B1G title would be sweet.

That's what she said.

I really hope they get their asses handed to them by Minnesota this week, just because their fans are clearly looking ahead. But OSU is definitely evil. Not gonna call them an empire.
November 11th, 2015 at 10:14 AM ^
That won't happen. Minnesota isn't a good team. Iowa isn't great either, but they're better than Minnesota.
November 11th, 2015 at 10:33 AM ^
Exactly. I mean, when has an upset ever happened in college football? Especially against a juggernaut like Iowa.
November 11th, 2015 at 10:28 AM ^
Beating an undefeated, highly ranked Iowa team in the B1G championship game is Michigan's best hope at making the CFP.
November 11th, 2015 at 10:35 AM ^
Yeah, I can't say I have anything against Iowa. If we aren't in the B1G championship game, obviously we'll all be rooting for them over MSU or OSU.
November 11th, 2015 at 10:36 AM ^
I was going to say this exact thing. If msu loses, and Michigan wins out with a win against an undefeated OSU and Iowa that would have a lot of people putting them in the conversation for top 4.
November 11th, 2015 at 4:38 PM ^
Wouldn't hurt if BYU and NW won out too.

I have to admit, I did not get the appeal of this until about the 1:22 mark. Then I saw the vintage Hayden Fry pornstache (with Fry identified as a Jedi), and I got it. An epiphany of sorts.
Woody Hayes is Hayden Fry's father.

Hey! Spoiler alert please

Weird, but I actually got chills watching that haha

Fucking John Williams is a Jedi master with movie scores. That "Binary Sun" theme is amazing and adapted very well for the trailer. I get chills every time I listen to/watch the trailer. I feel like a mind-trick was used on me to get chills while watching Iowa footage.

The music is so, so important, and we don't necessarily realize that it has such a huge impact on how we rate movies. John Williams was such a big part of the success of the initial Star Wars movie.

i feel like it should be against the rules to call them tOSU
November 11th, 2015 at 10:18 AM ^
Well, the AP Manual of Style formulation of "Mutant Chip Kicker Inbred Patio-Table Screwing Library-Wanking Tressell-Knobgobbling Player-Paying Insufferable Jackasses" can be a bit cumbersome, although I agree it is the preferred styling.
So I don't fault the OP for using the shorthand "tOSU".
November 11th, 2015 at 10:23 AM ^
how about just osu?
November 11th, 2015 at 10:31 AM ^
Take it up with the AP Manual of Style. I don't control those things.
November 11th, 2015 at 11:29 AM ^
aren't there like 12 schools in the Ohio state university system?
November 11th, 2015 at 11:17 AM ^
Calling them "tOSU" is my personal mocking of them. Because it is so patently ridiculous. Self congratulatory, etc., etc. This, incidentally, is why Brian isn't a fan of some of the text in the stadium intro video with James Earl Jones voiceover. Those who are the best don't need to congratulate themselves.

Cool idea, and while OSU is clearly the Empire, UM are the Jedis, not Iowa. Iowa is Jar-Jar Binks...
November 11th, 2015 at 10:14 AM ^
I'd put Rutgers as Jar-Jar Binks. As in the why are they here? Is this a joke? of the Big Ten.
November 11th, 2015 at 10:21 AM ^
OK, then maybe Iowa is Bobo Fet? Looks good, pretty cool for a while, then dies in pathetic fashion (as I expect Iowa will in the B1G championship game no matter who they play)?

Iowa Hype Video... Three words I never thought I would see together.
November 11th, 2015 at 10:10 AM ^
Yeah, this was better than I expected.
In some other parallel universe in which UM is not the B1G East representative in the Championship game, I will be rooting so hard for Iowa to upseat all that is Evil.
November 11th, 2015 at 10:11 AM ^
but if these wanks were trying to make a hype video for the potential B1G championship game they got the wrong team as their opponent.

Ha! I dig it! Good theme and well made and let's be honest if that is what happens in the B1G championship game we're all going to be Hawkeye fans.
November 11th, 2015 at 11:12 AM ^
1. I want Michgan to win rest of games and to beat undefeated Iowa
2.). Michigan win rest of games but beat a 1 loss Iowa team in B10 ship game.
3. olieo lose to one loss Iowa team in B10 ship so no Big 10 team is in playoff. (If Michigan lost the game)
999,999,999,999. Any other Big 10 team goes to playoff
I do not root for other Big 10 teams. Just Michigan

with all of the marijuana stickers on it. Are they keeping track of hits?

I loathe OSU, and I'll smite anyone who says otherwise. Don't lump me in with them.

It takes Star Wars: The Force Awakens to get me even remotely hyped about Iowa football, but dammit... it did.
