More Disrespekt: NBC headline has MSU losing to Minny

Submitted by DrAwkward on

The actual story gets it right, but the headline on NBC has Sparty losing to Minnesota.

NBC cares so little about Sparty, they can't even get the opponent right.

This is very true.  I live in the DC area where people are from all over and don't have a focus on any particular regional team like they do in other places.

I see lots of Michigan stuff around town, all year long, whether we are good or bad.  We are a nationally elite program.

I don't ever see any Michigan State stuff.  MSU is viewed like TCU . . . a traditionally irrelevant program that has had a few wins lately.  Nothing more.  They are only as relevant as their last win.

Exactly. It's funny, I only care about them when we play them. Unless they are undefeated or looking good, because then I have to pay attention, as I am afraid good things might happen to them. Now that their spirits have been crushed and Mike D'Antoni is all sad and holding up one finger and their odds of going to the playoff have dropped to near zero, I just don't care anymore.

It looks like Sparty was able to get one last gift from the gods against us. The problem for them is these are not always gracious gods; they can give, but then turn around and take in the most painful of ways. OSU has Meyer, we have The Harbaugh. The B1G East should be a two team race (settle down Sparty, I'm not talking about you) for the foreseeable future.

Big picture shows just how bad sports journalism has become. We laugh, but ESPN, NBC sports and CBS sports are truly turning to dog shit. NFL network and MLB network are the only ones that are worth your time.

With the complete lack of awareness Sparty fans have shown in their own fortunes with regards to shitty officiating, I see them as a bumbling horde of simpletons that like what they see when the green and white team does good, but doesn't like it when the not green and white team does good. They sit there smiling and clapping like the special ed kid does at his own farts, but now somebody has taken their sucker and the world has crumbled around them. You can try to explain all you want that it wasn't their sucker anyway, it doesn't matter. Little Sparty is gonna throw a tantrum now and then cry himself to sleep. Just weather the storm, he'll be quite soon.
