Probable Start Times @ PSU & The Game

Submitted by Eastern Wolverine on

What are consensus thoughts regarding probable start times for @ PSU on 11/21 and OSU on 11/28? My guess is for 3:30 or 7:00 (if possible) @ PSU followed by 3:30 for The Game. I realize 12:00 is traditional for OSU but aren't we likely to see 3:30 again a la 2006 for obvious reasons?

the schedule and level of importance of the game relative to the other games and what time Michigan wants kickoff to be, regardless of network desires. Based on that, Michigan plays OSU in the traditional early window. Penn State, on the other hand, will want that game later and at night. So it will either be a 3;30 pm or evening kickoff. Either way it ends up under the lights.

Ohio State is 95% likely to be at Noon on ABC.

The other 5% chance would be 3:30 which would only be possible (and still unlikely) if MSU loses to either Nebraska or Maryland and also Ohio State and we win our next three games (making The Game the BIG East Championship game).

As for Penn State, the tricky thing is that's also the MSU/OSU day, which will definitely be a 3:30 game(Ohio State has already announced all night games and there's no way that's at noon).

Do you think they would put both of those games on at the same time? The other weird thing Penn State has been known to do is starting games at 5PM (the last game in Happy Valley in 2013 fit this description). Is that possible?

I love how this thread is started every week when we all know the TV suits announce the game times within 7 days of the game.

I don't know if this is done on purpose, but I seriously do get a good laugh out of it. I think this has been going on all season.

is because timing of both games is very important to me. While I won't know for sure until a week prior, the opinion of many here helps me plan. I.e. Do I go to/buy tickets for the PSU game? If 12:00 start sounds likely, yes. If 7:00, no. I'm f*cked in terms of watching The Game if it starts @ 3:30. I won't invite my usual group of OSU/UM fans over unless I want to get divorced and/or have my 16 year old hate me for bailing on her birthday party. My guess is other folks have scheduling issues too. I'd rather make decisions based on the prediction of many informed people vs. just myself.

for this to be a night game.

Night games are great in September & October.

November ... when it could be snowing, and deer are more likely to be running around ..... and you're trying to get 100K people out of the middle of nowhere at Midnight?  Not nearly as great.

I'd guess Noon, MSU @ OSU at 3:30, then ABC gets one of TCU/Oklahoma, Baylor/OK State or UCLA/Utah for their prime time game.
