Is Halloween messing up anyone else's timeframe tomorrow or can most get it out of the way today?
October 30th, 2015 at 5:10 PM ^
I'd bet the Anoka Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitor's Bureau is behind that ludicrous load of crap.
"It was not until mass Irish and Scottish immigration in the 19th century that Halloween became a major holiday in America. Confined to the immigrant communities during the mid-19th century, it was gradually assimilated into mainstream society and by the first decade of the 20th century it was being celebrated coast to coast by people of all social, racial and religious backgrounds. "In Cajun areas, a nocturnal Mass was said in cemeteries on Halloween night. Candles that had been blessed were placed on graves, and families sometimes spent the entire night at the graveside."

Luckily my kids are young... 2 and 4, and it's supposed to rain. So we will be done well before kickoff. (and they trick or treated on Main St. today)

Can the Jug be flown back on the Delta charter as a carry-on?
Also, I'm currently at work haplessly trying to accomplish ANYTHING. Football seems like a distant memory. Can't wait for kickoff tomorrow.
This is me tomorrow evening:
GET OFF MY PORCH, KIDS! I'M WATCHING THE GAME!

I tried this last year and the bowl was empty in five minutes. Bastards.

Put Bit O' Honey or Necco wafers in the bowl. They will last a long time! Anything good is gone like the wind.

I can't understand who eats those shitty Necco wafers. The company is still in business, which boggles my mind. www.necco.com

The good ol' New England Confectionery Company. Fine purveyors of NECCO wafers, and also conversation hearts. I read somewhere that both candies are the exact same ingredients, just formed into different shapes. That's some Yankee ingenuity.

Halloween plans in this neck of the woods are in a state of flux because of the weather forecast at the moment, which actually does bode well for me catching the entire game as opposed to missing part of the first quarter potentially. It really isn't my kids I worry about though because they aren't nearly as intrepid as the other kids on the street, so it is interruptions that concern me more now. I might have to put the "Game In Progress - Please Try Next Halloween" out.

I'm supposed to go to a Halloween party in town, unfortunately it conflicts with gametime, I'll either be late to the ball, or skip it until next year.

Currently a Granite Stater. The day for trick-or-treating seems to vary around here. We go on Halloween itself, but some other towns do it on different night, and it seems to vary from year to year (I think they try to avoid Friday or Saturday?. I don't need that kind of confusion.

So, no problem there. The weather forecast has been fluid and it now looks like rain will end late afternoon, so the timing is perfect for masses of kids when the game starts. We also have lots of decorations and a smoke machine, so that brings them in, too. Wife will be handling the candy bowl while I watch the game. She's a keeper. Go Blue! Reclaim the jug!

is a serious obstacle to my viewing the game live tomorrow night. DVR delay just isn't the same. Do I trick or treat with my nine year old or watch the game with my old man? I'm leaning toward the later as he's alive only so long and there's always therapy for the kid.

Wife trick or treating with the kids and I'm sitting in the garage passing out candy. TV in the garage on ESPN watching Michigan dominate. Can't wait to see this defense play again.
GO Blue.

I'll miss the game until 8:00, trick or treating with kids. I'm pissed that they moved the start time to 7:00. At 8:00 I would have been good. I'll be checking scores at every house with my head down staring at my phone like one of "those" parents.
