WTKA Roundtable 10/22: What If We Tried A Sextuple Reverse

[Eric Upchurch]

On the roundtable this week:

  • I get a sick burn about Craig in after he went at me hard last week
  • People are still calling in with highly unlikely scenarios about that last play
  • I'm like let's move along
  • Nope, no moving along
  • Probably because it's a bye week

It was a frustrating listen. The panel insisted on addressing every cockemamy idea instead of talking about something interesting or relevant. Since it's a bye week, they could have talked hoops or hockey or USMNT.

who are still trying to think of alternative plays Michigan should have run give it a rest very soon.  If for no other reason, but for their own sakes.  It's like - "but, but, but, what if Capt. Smith had overrode Bruce Ismay's request and slowed the Titanic down before it reached the iceberg?????"    Sure, OK, they probably would have had enough time to turn the ship and miss the iceberg.  But they didn't.  Move on.

I'm tired of people questioning the last play but I'm also tired of people saying we played well enough to win, especially on offense.  Every play matters and the last play might have been a fluke play but it still counts and the reason it mattered is because the offense had a bad game.  That was the biggest takeaway from this game, our offense doesn't exist against good defensive lines.  4 possesions that started inside their 50 resulted in 13 points.  That isn't playing well enough to win and its the real reason we lost.

Unless we get that figured out we lose to both psu and osu.  Psu because while hackenberg isn't good their special teams aren't so bad we will get to start on their half of the field most of the time and osu because their offense will score.

I'm just glad they didn't spend the entire roundtable talking about the last play, because that wouldve sucked, and been completely pointless, and excruciatingly painful. So glad they went in depth about the defense, and how we match up against Minnesota and Rutgers in the coming weeks instead.
