I think this coaching staff might be pretty decent.
October 10th, 2015 at 7:08 PM ^
Any idea what he was so upset about? Couldn't hear that well at a bar and didn't see anything obvious on the replay.
October 10th, 2015 at 8:35 PM ^
I thought Wormley might have gotten held on that play so maybe Harbaugh did too.
October 10th, 2015 at 8:38 PM ^
There was an NU player with a handful of stretchy Adidas jersey on just about every Michigan defensive snap today.
October 10th, 2015 at 8:50 PM ^
I think he's saying "it's not the crown" - i.e. he's saying the Ross targeting hit was bullshit.

There's always room for improvement. Ask the 49s.
October 10th, 2015 at 6:51 PM ^
when Fitzgerald decided to try for a fg on 4th and 1yd instead of going for it. That was their one chance to make this a game, and they didn't take it. From there on, the coaching mismatch was one massive metal pole beating Northwestern until they were an unrecognizeable bloody mess.
October 10th, 2015 at 7:13 PM ^
I didn't think that FGA on 4th and 1 was a bad call - it's not like we have a torrid lighting quick offense. If they make it it's 14-3 which isn't great but it was early in the game and the roof hadn't caved it just yet.
October 10th, 2015 at 7:33 PM ^
If Fitzgerald thought his offense was likely to drive that deep into Michigan territory again, then he's crazy.

Yeah, given the season has played out these snowflake threads are pretty boring. Coaching? Great. Yup. Good stuff. Offense? Yeah, sure. Not bad. Defense? Great.
October 10th, 2015 at 6:52 PM ^
Elite.
Same D as last year minus 2 NFL players and Countess and Mone plus Peppers. Are you kidding me.
AJ Williams trying for a Heisman?
OL looking good.
Etc
just a great group of coaches.

Where would we be had Brandon pursued Harbaugh before they hired Hoke. Would we have a title already? I believe we would. Hell...the way we are going we may get one this year!
October 10th, 2015 at 7:10 PM ^
Hoke paid the rebuilding dues. Harbaugh might have paid them a bit quicker but not this quickly
October 10th, 2015 at 10:35 PM ^
Brandon would have never, ever hired Harbaugh. Brandon makes the 49ers front office look like Mensa-level geniuses. Brandon first valued coaches for their loyalty to him, not for how good they are at coaching sports.
October 10th, 2015 at 6:55 PM ^
Example #129 of this coaching staffs competency: AJ Williams is an asset on this offense. Who would have predicted that after his first 3 seasons. Good on him!

This coaching staff is incredible. Soak it up, just awesome.

since @PSU 1997. Simply awesome team and coaching.
October 10th, 2015 at 7:04 PM ^
I mean, to start, ND 2003, 2006, and 2007 weren't bad, but...
October 10th, 2015 at 7:17 PM ^
That game AT PSU was supposed to be a slugfest. Michigan went to peenis state and beat them into submission... Same here, was supposed to be close EXCEPT THOSE OF US (me) WHO SAID IT WOULD BE 42-0... I was wrong but only by 4, called the 0 tho,..
October 10th, 2015 at 7:51 PM ^
Truth talk: Did you actually watch any of the games I mentioned, much less the 1997 PSU game, when they occurred?
Don't get me wrong--1997 PSU was great. But that's not the only time in the last 20 years Michigan came out completely dominant in what was supposed to be a slugfest. 2003 ND in particular--we pretty much derailed Ty Willingham's coaching career on that one.
October 10th, 2015 at 10:35 PM ^
me of 2003 Notre Dame. That game was so much fun!

When Ross stopped by on the way out and say something to Fitzgerald and Pat pats him. That shows the class of both Pat and Ross. It is coaching and I am so glad we have HARBAUGH.
October 10th, 2015 at 7:43 PM ^
My wife, who, bless her heart, knows nothing about football, doesn't care about winning, and judges coaches solely on how nice they seem (and hence loved Brady Hoke) thought that was the highlight of the game and started coming around on Harbaugh because of the show off class.

On a serious note, I gotta wonder if Harbaugh is going to get fined like Beckman did for being caught on BTN spitting out a gigantic stream of tobacco juice before the second half.
To each their own, but man is it a disgusting habit.

+1. Just texted my OSU buddy that...he said "probably". HAHA. Feels good...just getting that lame feeling like when you have a junior become a MONSTER. You know people will be poaching at seasons end. enjoy it while we can.

We're back. Old rules are in effect again: You roll a bunch of two- and three-star kids out there against Michigan, you get rolled. Don't care how gritty and overachieving they are.
October 10th, 2015 at 7:11 PM ^
Rolled as fuck
October 10th, 2015 at 7:09 PM ^
I think we by far have the best staff in the country. They may adjustments if needed and constantly are throwing different looks out at opposing teams. It was either Brian or ace that pointed out they put these different looks out there and then don't use them the next game. Teams then have wasted time practicing against a look Michigan doesn't use. Genius.

On the radio post game, Chesson said they'd seen on film that NW didn't protect the weak side on kickoffs. Watch his TD again - the blocking is set up right from the beginning to feint forward then head weak side. Baxter RPS +3.

Instead of blocking forward, the blocker in front of Chesson (Butt? Can't tell on my phone) runs across the field

Peppers also told him that he thought that NU might kick away from him, and he'd be ready to block for him (Chesson).

Got some hot takes coming from MSU fans already about Harbaugh having starters in to close out the game, and how Dantonio would never do that.
Harbaugh doesn't seem to have a choice. It'd be nice to have a program that isn't in transition, but this is what we have with the depth on the roster--and it's working. It may not be the most comfortable thing when you think about how an injury could backfire, but I'll take it if it means having a game completely and totally in hand.

are usually still in because they are hanging on for dear life against the likes of Purdue
October 10th, 2015 at 8:38 PM ^
That is funny because if he pulls them and the other team starts to threaten he puts them back in. I was at the Wyoming game last year and anytime the Cowboys got close to scoring he would sub in the entire first team defense. He also subbed back in the entire O at one point.
