Open BCS Championship Bowl Game Thread
Will Texas pull another big upset in the biggest game (please please please)? Will the great Satan win his 2nd at his 2nd SEC school? How glad are we that we're done with Fox? And will Denise from Taco Bell join us on ABC? All these questions and more will be answered during tonight's game. Here's to us not watching the game and commenting on it here in the near future because we're all AT the game, watching a much more likable team. :-)

Sounds like two different bands playing at the same time. Awful.

Pete Carroll + announcing + Corso + Desmond = ENTHUSIASM!!
January 7th, 2010 at 10:15 PM ^
What the hell? Did anyone just see that?
January 7th, 2010 at 10:19 PM ^
He's shitfaced. Out of control. Bombed.
I'm sorry; I count myself among the small group that likes and appreciates the old Indiana coach. But this is not gonna be good for Lee.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:22 PM ^
He had a stroke last year.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:27 PM ^
But it isn't just the slurred speech. He doesn't seem right, does he?
January 7th, 2010 at 10:27 PM ^
Corso is a stroke survivor...
January 7th, 2010 at 10:16 PM ^
That stroke has really affected his speech.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:36 PM ^
I thought he was really funny when he put the Duck head on.
It shows how little ABC/ESPN I watched this year. I was outside in Ann Arbor for all of our home games, and away from t.v. for three of the road games.
Sincere apologies to Lee. (For the next time he's reading MGoBlog.)

Sadly, I think it has gotten worse as the season has gone on. I haven't personally seen any cases that regress, only improvement, but I have notice that this bowl season he seems worse than he did at the beginning of the season, where I thought he had made an amazing recovery. (See the slow progression Dick Clark has made with a more severe stroke. And DC HAS looked better each year).
January 7th, 2010 at 10:17 PM ^
Yes, he did (something like that with what the hell in it).
January 7th, 2010 at 10:17 PM ^
Your team is beating essentially half a team, so please try to tone down the suffocating arrogance you'd normally unleash after a major bowl victory. Just compile all the excuses you'd be making if Bama lost Ingram and apply them to Texas.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:18 PM ^
Double post. That's embarrassing.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:23 PM ^
immortalizes it with a Reply

He was really sounding bad there right after the half. It sounded like he was having a stroke. Slurring it seemed like...but, now he seems ok.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:19 PM ^
I don't know if he was hitting the bottle too hard in the first half or, God forbid, he was having a serious problem like a stroke. Something was NOT right.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:18 PM ^
mccoy is scottish for possum. he comes back in and lights up the night. hook em horns.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:18 PM ^
STFU. The shovel pass was not a bad call. It's actually a really safe play call. the execution of it sucked. But would corso be going ballistic if they called a run and the kid fumbled?
January 7th, 2010 at 10:20 PM ^
But it boils down to this: Colt McCoy out.
Game over.
Who does Colin Ferguson have on tonight?
Hey Pete: you are a phony fuck. How many cheerleaders have you boinked?
CUT! GO TO COMMERCIAL!
Hi, Denise? About your burrito...
January 7th, 2010 at 10:24 PM ^
do you mean craig?
January 7th, 2010 at 10:28 PM ^
Either that or Colin Big Head with Red Hair and Ferguson had a kid together.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:20 PM ^
Does anyone think Pete Carroll is doing a "personal PR" campaign by doing the halftime show? The writing is on the wall IMO.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:27 PM ^
Since there is so much Saban hate flying. How about everyone lists their favorite reason they hate him?
January 7th, 2010 at 10:31 PM ^
hate's a strong word. although substitue a 't' for a 'b'...
January 7th, 2010 at 10:31 PM ^
It might be easier to ask for reasons not to hate Saban.
Anybody?
January 7th, 2010 at 10:35 PM ^
His scintillating public speaking?
January 7th, 2010 at 10:32 PM ^
The cheating, mostly.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:38 PM ^
The worst thing you can ever do is lie. Saban is a LIAR!
January 7th, 2010 at 10:43 PM ^
Hopefully you're not watching the game with your Bama friends...
January 7th, 2010 at 10:40 PM ^
I like Saban.
The man had the common sense to GTFO of East Lansing when he could.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:48 PM ^
examples of cheating that has everyone up in arms besides the mass signings?
January 7th, 2010 at 10:27 PM ^
Went over to Burntorangenation.com to peek at the threads. I'm very glad we moderate the game threads for Michigan games. I worked for the Ohio State game and seeing that makes me glad Brian has moderators.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:53 PM ^
...their open thread meltdown is nothing compared to the psychotic gibbering that took place on Mgoblog's good ol' Haloscan threads.
Reading those you'd think the fanbase had encountered a shoggoth or something.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:56 PM ^
Haloscan was hilarious. Sometimes I really miss it.
January 7th, 2010 at 11:13 PM ^
Haloscan era...
I couldn't follow a Haloscan thread during a game without a sixer of Labatt. It was just necessary.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:33 PM ^
Steve Smith is nailed by Don Rodgers and put out of the 1983 Rose Bowl.
In steps freshman Dave hall and UM plays a prety damn good game and only loses to UCLA 24-14.
Bo Schembechler didn't win a whole lot of Rose Bowls, but The Man could rally the troops under duress.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:37 PM ^
MSU fans must hate seeing their ex-coach in position to win another MNC.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:39 PM ^
Other silver lining is that we don't have to figure out how Mack Brown has won two National Titles...
January 7th, 2010 at 10:49 PM ^
good point.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:37 PM ^
Gabbert isn't even playing that bad. Maybe if somebody could make a catch when the pass is dead on, they'd be in better shape. One Unit hasn't played this bad in a national championship since Ohio State's offensive line.
January 7th, 2010 at 11:07 PM ^
it's Gilbert
January 7th, 2010 at 10:38 PM ^
Security will be called to remove an idiot.
I love it. Some LB should light him up.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:39 PM ^
I was looking at my computer when musberger said that. Streaker?
January 7th, 2010 at 10:39 PM ^
And some dumbass rushes the field. I wish they would show us his takedown.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:39 PM ^
You can actually see it from the aerial view. He just slipped.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:43 PM ^
of course ABC sports has a policy of not showing this kind of thing.
Was it a streaker or just some idiot?
January 7th, 2010 at 10:50 PM ^
The person looked all white from above, but honestly, I have no idea.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:40 PM ^
Gilbert makes Forcier look like Superman
January 7th, 2010 at 10:40 PM ^
It's amazing how you take a quarterback off a loaded, deep team, and they look like shit. Myopically speaking, seeing another example of how important the college QB is in football has me much more excited about us moving forward.
GO BLUE!
