Discovered by the germans and named O$U, which of course means a whale's vagina. Just kidding, I was just trying to impress you guys. I don't think anybody knows what it means anymore. Michigan scholars maintain that the translation was lost hundreds of years ago.

It's a fine school with a proud tradition, dating back to the old Western Conference, long before anybody heard about, or cared about, land-grant schools like the Michigan Agircultural College and the Ohio State University.
