Yep exactly what I expect against MSU.  They're going to bring those safeties up every play.  Their game plan will be roll the dice with man coverage and minimal back safety support in order to have numbers in the box.  They'll win by shutting down our running game coupled with applying crazy pressure on a QB who's proving to be just about as bad as we've had at managing the deep ball.  If he can't figure out his deep accuracy we'll be lucky to score 13 against State.

The X factor will of course be Harbaugh hopefully Harbaughing a hot route counter-attack that can hopefully build us some respect early in that game, but the way our QBs are looking I'm not holding much hope.

I was glad to see Isaac get more carries, but after he cleared the line-of-scrimmage on the touchdown run wide open, he seemed a bit lumbering and slow.  The guys chasing are not 4* track stars but seemed to be gaining fast.  Ty is huge.....  Perhaps has put on too much bulk?

leaked out of the submarine that O'Korn is by far is the best QB on the team. He just cannot play this season but we'll have him for two seasons! Harbaugh will develop our younger QBs! I feel sorry for Morris that he did not get the same type of coaching when he first arrived!

Agree. I wasn't at the game, but even on TV you could see some WR/TE separation. Also, on the plays they do make, the WRs and TEs look like legit players. Butt has had some excellent plays this year. Darboh has had nifty runs. Chesson has blazed like on his TD today.

But has Rudock had a single 'wow, that was great' play all year?

To be fair, I was in section 24 row 39.  It was breezy where I sat and was down right windy when I left the stadium.  I noticed the refs' pants flapping in the wind down on the field a couple of times.  Rucock barely missed on a bunch of long passes today.  If he makes two those, he's a hero instead of a goat.  I'm rarely in a hurry to beat up on the QB until I hear from the coach that the receivers ran good routes.

I know the proprietor of this site has an affinity for Rudock and wants to cut him slack all the time and attribute errors as much as possible on other things, but he was just so obviously mediocre today, it becomes more and more ridiculous to keep suggesting he's going to be consistently good.

INT was bad, several other bad throws that against a good defense would result in at least one more INT, very inconsistent on his accuracy even on short throws (which I would have said was his strength), seems to have no idea where (or ability) to place long balls.

He's not terrible by any means, but he's really solidly mediocre.

Well Rudock has shown consistency this season, he's just consistently bad. He isn't a viable option going forward and I hope Harbaugh strongly considers putting Morris in. Otherwise this could be a 6-6 team with such awful QB play from Rudock.
