There were also several tweets yesterday saying that he *started* following Jay Harbaugh and sparty's OC on Twitter (we know he was following Jay during his recruitment, so it sounds like he may have unfollowed him at some point, then re-followed him in the last 48 hours).
September 13th, 2015 at 1:05 PM ^
so Jay would have to unfollow him once he signed with UCLA.

He spent a whole two weeks committed to something? I underestimated him

There's no way he responds well to Harbaugh's coaching style. Hell, the thing he liked about Mora is that he's "chill". Michigan should stay far away from Clark IMO.
September 13th, 2015 at 1:22 PM ^
I don't feel totally comfortable judging an 18 yr old I haven't met....but dude's obviously a flake. He committed to UNC for a hot second right? Then Michigan for a bit. Then UCLA. I suspect he wouldn't respond well to Harbaugh screaming at him as he's like the 4th string TE
September 13th, 2015 at 1:29 PM ^
He's 20.
September 13th, 2015 at 2:15 PM ^
That's kind of weird, unless he was already old for his class and then got held back a grade or something. Or Mormon mission. Always gotta consider the possibiity of the Mormon mission with these CT kids.

September 13th, 2015 at 2:32 PM ^
Pretty sure >50% of CT is Mormon, including people there for prep school.
September 13th, 2015 at 2:40 PM ^
i cant tell if this is a joke or not. I am from CT and i had to google it to make sure this was wrong. Here's a fun fact: 0.4% of the population of CT is mormon. 15,000 out of 3.6 million. Do people actually think CT has a lot of Mormons?
September 13th, 2015 at 2:48 PM ^
September 13th, 2015 at 3:12 PM ^
There's over 8 million people in NYC.....3.6mm in CT is nothing.
September 13th, 2015 at 7:32 PM ^
There's too many people on that side of the mountains. It's neverending civilization from DC to Boston
September 13th, 2015 at 6:04 PM ^
There are roughly 5.3M people in Metro Detroit, which is just about the same size as Connecticut. And the majority of people in Connecticut live on the coast and by NYC. Most of the state is just forest and large hills.
Oh, and bears.

Coach has a way of getting players attention, This could benefit Clark

September 13th, 2015 at 1:43 PM ^
And has never been.
He liked UCLA's weather and girls. Period. He liked the bright lights...
And Harbaugh's really not a yeller at players. Look at every single Rudock INT or mistake we've made.
He's MUCH more of a coach than a yeller/screamer/Bobby Knight style.
Clark would do just fine...but are we still too far from home is my question.
September 13th, 2015 at 1:52 PM ^
Ok, the fact that he liked Mora because he thought he was chill is the more important part. We all know Harbaugh likes players with a certain mentality and Clark just doesn't appear to fit that mold. Harbaugh's an intense guy who demands his players to display a certain amount of toughness and competitiveness, and I don't think Clark would respond well to that based on what I know about him from his recruitment and now this story.
September 13th, 2015 at 2:32 PM ^
Harbaugh would have accepted his commitment on NSD, right? Sounds to me like he thought Clark fit his mold just fine.
September 13th, 2015 at 6:15 PM ^
I think everyone is reading way too much into one innocuous quote. But more than that, y'all don't know shit about Clark's mental state, how he would respond to coaching, or what he is like as a person.
And considering we have a RB and a starting QB on our roster who are transfers, I think all of this judgement is a) shitty, and b) hypocritical.
But have your fun. Its cool to openly the question the mental health of a college freshman.
September 13th, 2015 at 9:24 PM ^
betwen a young man who transfers after a season, or two, or three, or even four. But after two weeks? Plus, the kid quickly committed to NC and decommited a day later. Committed to UM and then decommitted, and then spent the rest of the time being very malleable to both UCLA and UM. I'm not stating that he cannot grow up, or change. Yet, he has a very dubious track record in comparison. I worry that he has talent but doesn't have ethic--which is the type of player that will not last with Harbaugh. He has to be able to commit beyond one day, one week. Not just to the team, but for himself.
Stop telling other fans that they are judging too quickly. We could argue that you simply are overlooking character to take a flyer on a dubious kid--who has already burned the school twice. Sure, the coaches may take him based on his potential, but many fans could care less about his potential at this point--and that isn't judgy.

who is in his mid 30s and can't decide whether to redo my house, or move in the area, or move somewhere totally different, I'm not going to harp on some 19-20 year old trying to make one of the biggest decisions in his life.
I switched majors, and my wife has switched careers after getting her masters. The problem isn't the kids, it's the fact grown adults follow their recruitment too much. There is no reason we should have this much information on a possible recruit who ended up somewhere else.

This makes for an interesting argument. On one hand, he doesn't seem very mentally tough and it appears as though he is indecisive. He'll sit out maybe two years although, I think one appearance in a game with very limited participation and mono may very well be a good enough excuse for the NCAA to grant him a waiver allowing him to play next year. My money is on the ladder. If not, and he came to Michigan, being 20, we might have this kid until he's 24(!!) before he leaves/graduates? That's enough time for Harbaugh to instil some discipline, fortitude, and maturity in this kid. If not, he leaves and we move on. Just my opinion, and trusting the coaches, I'd take him.

You may be right, but you may not be. Obviously the "chill" approach" did not work, and with Harbaugh, he would either shit in his pants and leave again or he may just grow up, willing to take a chance as the kid was talented.

I don't know why he's quitting now, but it looks like a very bad decision for his football career. He played in UCLA's first game. He's going to sit out this season and redshirt next season unless the NCAA grants some sort of hardship request. Maybe he can argue he shouldn't have played because of mono, but I doubt it would work.

It's a self-imposed setback. Lots of players sit due to injuries, missions or simply having to wait their turn to play He'll still have 3 years of eligibility. Still, going back to UCLA might be his best option.
