Good to remind people in case they did not read all of the Friday Recruitin' Goes the Extra Mile piece as it was also mentioned there after the jump.

There's some irony there about going the extra mile, etc.

Might be able to start for us now. /s
Edit: Retract the sarcasm.... Wow is this kid good. Holy shit I can't wait to see him in the winged helmet with Harbaugh!!!!

I didn't have time to read the recruiting post earlier today. This was an easy-to-see reminder.

Competition could get really interesting in a couple years.

Stayed in there and took a hit too. Can't wait to see this kid in A2!

But is this kid available to play tomorrow?
September 11th, 2015 at 8:26 PM ^
I bet you Brian Cleary would play better if asked to play tomorrow. Peters has way more natural talent, but he is rather raw.

Brian Cleary would be too busy interning for Dave Brandon.
September 11th, 2015 at 8:14 PM ^
He just hit a throw I'm not sure Rudock could make. We have O'Korn next year, but I think he might be in the mix this year if he were here.

It's Indiana high school football. Slow your roll.
September 11th, 2015 at 8:15 PM ^
Watched 1 play and it was a better pass than any Michigan QB has thrown in the last 7 years.

BTN has Michigan versus #4 Maryland soccer. Second half 0-0

Michigan holding their own so far tonight. Good performance especially on the road

After that maryland red card this match has looked... awful.. it's painful watching both teams boot it back and forth.

Peters has looked really good so far this year

That Iowa commit at RB looks like a beast. Doesn't he know bad things happen to Iowa running backs?

The running back for brownsburg has better vision than all of Michigans
September 11th, 2015 at 8:28 PM ^
Are people serious with all of the some of these guys are better than our guys now? Throw this running back in against guys that weigh 45 pounds more but are also faster.

September 11th, 2015 at 8:30 PM ^
Well our running backs weigh 45 lbs more and can't avoid running into their own linemen

Just saw that Derrick Green is down to the scout team? He was a top 30 recruit in the country. Wow.

I hate to say that I am not overly surprised. The first time I saw him run for us I was immediately worried. The guy is big and fast, but he has NO FOOTWORK OR BALANCE. He just collapses to the ground if anyone gets their hands on him.
Obviously those are things he can improve on, but a guy who is tackled that easily is never going to be a star at higher levels.
September 11th, 2015 at 10:38 PM ^
Not good especially for a 5* recruit. Good athlete but goes down way to easy for his size. Maybe it will motivate him.
September 12th, 2015 at 8:45 AM ^
I feel terrible saying it, but when I saw him in his high school AA game I was already concerned. They were pumping him up because he got a lot of yards, but he always went down on first contact. He looked very soft for a guy his size. When I saw him come out as a freshman and once again go down every time someone layed a finger on him, I got over the idea he was a 5* in a hurry.
I do think he has improved a little bit in being able to run through contact... he was showing some signs last year before he got hurt. But he's still not half as physical as Smith.
September 11th, 2015 at 10:15 PM ^
There's really no overstating how bad our run game is currently, I'm afraid.
September 11th, 2015 at 8:29 PM ^
20 years ago we ran a "Wing-t" offense at my school. It amazes me the complex offenses these kids run now.

Hell, when I played about 11 years ago we were one of the first high schools in our conference to run a spread. Now I think all of the teams do.
Ironically, we lost in sectionals to a team that ran the wing-T
September 12th, 2015 at 12:30 AM ^
I was a HS senior 6 years ago. Still ran the Wing-T but with 3 1000 yard rusher RBs. It works IF IF IF IF and only IF you have multiple studs at the RB positions.
The spread allows you to score points with less talented players because it gives them a fair shot in space VS just flat out beating someone.
September 12th, 2015 at 8:48 AM ^
It is very depressing to me. I was a smaller guy but really quick and athletic. I would have tore it up as a slot receiver in a lot of these modern high school offenses. Unfortunately, my high school's philosophy back then was put the 11 biggest guys on the field regardless of skill and just mash into the opposing line on every play.

if this will serve as the general Friday Night Football thread, Miami is at FAU on FS1
September 11th, 2015 at 8:32 PM ^
Yeah.. some of these comments are both hilarious and sad. On a serious note, hunter johnson the brownsburg quarterback is very impressive. He has a much quicker release than Peters and seems deadly accurate. Looks like tennessee found a good one in him.
September 11th, 2015 at 8:36 PM ^
And then he sails one in the end zone. He hasn't been as accurate as Peters. But yes, has a quicker release. He's also a year younger than Peters

In HS, pass interference is 15 yards even if the foul is committed only five yards downfield?
