Logan Tuley-Tillman Dismissed From Team Comment Count

Ace

According to a very brief release from the athletic department, redshirt sophomore offensive tackle Logan Tuley-Tillman is no longer a member of the football program.

Statement from Jim Harbaugh, J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head Football Coach:

“Logan Tuley-Tillman has been dismissed from the football team for conduct unacceptable for a Michigan student athlete."

Tuley-Tillman saw some action as a sixth lineman in the Utah game, so something must have transpired since then. His departure means Michigan's depth on the line is worrisome both this year and moving forward. Unless a guard slides out to tackle, the only backup tackles are now freshmen: redshirt freshman Juwann Bushell-Beatty and true freshmen Grant Newsome and Nolan Ulizio. Graham Glasgow and Ben Braden could each move to right tackle, allowing David Dawson or Patrick Kugler (when he's healthy) to slide into the lineup if need be. Michigan can stand pat for now, but if there's an injury on the line things get dicey in a hurry.

Expect Michigan to make a big push for another tackle in the 2016 class. Meanwhile, the heralded 2013 O-line haul is looking like a disaster. Kugler and Dawson still have plenty of time to contribute, but Chris Fox's career is over due to medical issues, Kyle Bosch transferred to West Virginia, Dan Samuelsen couldn't crack the two-deep and transferred, and now Tuley-Tillman is off the team.

Super disappointing.  I always liked LTT.  He was hardcore Michigan.

He must have done something bad to not receive a warning.

... similar to Harbaugh's perspective.  People live up or down to expectations you set for them.  Calling them kids gives them freedom to act like children.  These are young men, and as young men, they have to begin acting like it.  It's a learning process... it's not always easy.  Hope it works out for him.

he did something real fucked up? Harbaugh dismissed him for conduct unbecoming, what more do you need? It may or may not have been something technically criminal in nature; sometimes that sort of conduct is noticed by coaches, but not reported to police, depending on the nature of the offense. At last check, LTT was not on any Ann Arbor criminal blotter. At any rate, this sucks of OL depth. Fight on men, and Go Blue

I always thought this guy would be a big help for the OL due to his size and ratings, but this ends those thoughts.

Hope all works out for the kid.

Speculation at this time does no good for anyone.

I have no idea the cause behind this action.

But it's starting to look like Harbaugh is willing to endure some pain this year to form a better team next and beyond.  If sacrificing some OL depth was necessary, then so be it.

I'm sure if the long snapper did whatever LTT did, then the answer is yes.

But I think your point is that the LS is a scholarship slot better given a "real" player.

Ditto Andrew David, a scholarship kicker third on the depth chart.

Again, I don't know what LTT did.  But it's clear Harbaugh isn't putting up with it ... whatever "it" is.

It never ceases to amaze me how many college football players do something really stupid and lose the chance to play D1 football and a free education. He had to really screw up to not just get a suspension.

This is so weird.  The night following our season opener against Utah I went to the Greenwood block party and was talking with LTT.  He introduced himself and I told him "I saw you playing yesterday, good to see you out there".  He said to me "yea man, it's been TOOO long" kind of exasperatedly.

We didn't talk much longer but that bit stuck with me.  This is so weird to see him getting abruptly kicked off after he just started getting some time.
