What are you going to drink tonight?
Approaching the noon hour, just wondering what everyone's beverage of choice will be tonight to usher in the Harbaugh era? I'm generally a beer guy on game days but might have to kick it up a notch for tonight's special occasion.
Or should we abstain so as not to dull our senses?
What say you? Or should I say, what ales, you?

Headed to Boston to visit my wife for the weekend, I believe I will be at some bar downtown!

McGreevy's is the Boston Michigan bar, FWIW.

She said there was a michigan bar, not sure if it's that one. I will look into that. How early you think we gotta get there, if you know?

The downtown one (assuming you're talking about The Place) is not the official Michigan bar anymore. I'll be at McGreevys on boylston.

I'm in Wisconsin. I could go to any liquor store and buy any beer. But boy you betcha it's Bells Two Hearted tonight.
September 3rd, 2015 at 11:59 AM ^
Mentioned this in a thread that got deleted, but I found some Two Hearted in my small hometown liquor store (MD) yesterday and was pumped. Will definitely be drinking that tonight.
September 3rd, 2015 at 1:07 PM ^
I'll pick up a six-pack of each of these and sample them all.

Whole Milk. None of that candy ass 2% or skim.
September 3rd, 2015 at 12:06 PM ^
I actually tried FairLife whole milk for the first time after the whole kid at the press conference thing and liked it as far as milk goes. Stripping out 50% of the sugar and all of the lactose definitely makes a difference.
If I had a young family I probably wouldn't be too happy paying $3-4 for 1.5L though...
September 3rd, 2015 at 12:54 PM ^
why would you want to drink milk that's not really milk?
September 3rd, 2015 at 1:13 PM ^
Because I'm not at all attached to the concept of milk? I drink it when I eat something sweet, which isn't that often, and less sugar works better when you're already eating an Oreo or a piece of cake.

Did you know that there is an allowable quantity of pus in milk in the US? Like, pus from infected udders due to the overuse of antibiotics in dairy cows. European standard is almost 10x higher than ours.
USA! USA! USA!

Stone sober. Ice Tea is the plan. And Pizza. SO . MUCH . PIZZA.

1) It's 130 degrees today.
2) Have to be fully functinal at work at 6:30 Friday morning.
3) I got hammered at a game as a student and remembered NOTHING about it. I swore to myself that I'd never drink during games again to maximize my (slipping) memory and enjoyment.

Probably Dragon's Milk and/or Black Tulip from New Holland.
If things go pear shaped then moonshine
If things go well, tequila.

I see what you did there. Maybe I'll go get some Duck Rabbit Milk Stout.

Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest.
September 3rd, 2015 at 11:57 AM ^
Can you get that around Ann Arbor? I found Hofbrau Oktoberfest at Meijer but I would love to try Hacker Pschorr.
September 3rd, 2015 at 12:49 PM ^
Blue Front (it's classy now!) carries lots of Hacker Pschorr and other German imports. I'm not 100% sure about the Oktoberfest but I would call them and ask.

I've got Fort Point Pale Ale and Headroom in my fridge. Might pick up Artaic. I don't have cable right now (roommate who just moved out did the cable for us) so I will have to go out to watch it, so whatever is at the bar is the other answer. I probably won't be drinking too heavily.

Bourbon.

Great Lakes Lake Erie monster or jack Daniels. Either way it will make the night more enjoyable or make it tolerable. Let's hope for more enjoyable.

Michigan beer for a Michigan win.
September 3rd, 2015 at 12:31 PM ^
I may adopt this policy for the season as well.
I kind of stopped enjoying Oberon over the years because it just didn't taste as good as I remembered it being on tap, out of a mason jar at Dominick's. Howeva, my wife picked up a 12-pack of Oberon in cans the other day, and I can't believe what a difference it makes. Night and day. I'm hooked all over again. Thus, while the weather remains warm, Oberon from a can it will be.
September 3rd, 2015 at 11:51 AM ^
Spiced-cider and Bacardi. It's still quite warm here in NC, but it's fall in my mind.
September 3rd, 2015 at 11:51 AM ^
This is a great question. I just came down with a cold yesterday so not thinking beer would be the best for me. I'll be at BWW for the game because I don't have FS1 so it is likely that alcohol would be consumed. Maybe some whiskey?
September 3rd, 2015 at 11:51 AM ^
Hopefully some lady gravy, if the wife isn't pissed at me.

Kind of inappropriate, but given the demographics, you may be able to whip that up pretty easily.

Another question that doesn't necessarily need its own thread is, who is going back in to work tomorrow?
September 3rd, 2015 at 11:54 AM ^
I am, but the office closes at 3. Then I head to the airport to go to Vegas.

Boilermakers. I've got pint bottles chilling, and a large bottle of scotch to add to my glass. I'm so fired up, I've been waiting for this since the 05 Rose Bowl. We're back, baby!
September 3rd, 2015 at 12:03 PM ^
Biomarkers? No, we will not accept surrogate endpoints for this game. The full W is all that matters!
September 3rd, 2015 at 12:04 PM ^
I could have sworn your post said "biomarkers." I must be losing it. Or did you edit?
September 3rd, 2015 at 12:26 PM ^
Either way your response was still good and I got a good laugh. Thabionks.
September 3rd, 2015 at 12:09 PM ^
Never actually tried this. What beer and scotch do you use? Have you tried it with bourbon? Do you actually enjoy it, or do you slam it to get drunk fast?
September 3rd, 2015 at 12:28 PM ^
It's a slam, but there are great whiskey shot and beer combos.
September 3rd, 2015 at 4:33 PM ^
It just takes a lot to get me drunk. Not trying to toot my horn or anything, I'm not even a regular drinker. It's the same with medications, they'll make other people sick and I just won't feel it. I started mixing because I love beer, but i want a buzz without needing to run to the bathroom all night. I usually stick with a beer that has a clean finish, like Stella, or hoegaarden, or modelo, and any scotch will do since you don't really taste it. I usually end up having some Johnny Walker around the house, though, because it's such a smooth blend.
