Poll: Which Michigan Road/Neutral Games Have You Attended?

Submitted by UNCWolverine on

Tomorrow night will be my 19th road/neutral Michigan game, including 4th straight road opener. I'm 8-10. Here's my list:

2015 Utah
2014 ND
2013 Northwestern
2012 Alabama
2012 ND
2012 Purdue
2012 Virginia Tech
2009 Iowa
2007 USC
2004 ND
2004 Purdue
2001 Washington
2000 UCLA
2000 Purdue
2000 Northwestern
1999 Wisconsin
1998 Northwestern
1998 Washington State
1997 Indiana

I should add we only lost those three games in 2000, and by a combined 7 points. Saw three goal posts come down that fall. Had I not gone we might have won another national championship.

So what's your list?

I was at both those games in 2006 as well.

The Penn State game was pretty sweet, I remember someone announcing that Maglio hit a walk off homer to send the Tigers to the World Series and the Michigan section went nuts.  It was during a time out and the Penn State fans were staring at us like WTF.

That campus sucked balls though, I asked a cop where a bar was at before the game and she was like "3 or 4 miles that way".  Fuck that.

Only one, Connecticut in 2013. Haven't been in the Big House in more than 20 years, too, but just found out recently that I am going to The Game this year. I am stoked. But I'll be sitting with research colleagues from OSU :(

2013 @ Penn State is the only one so far.

That was the 4OT loss, if you've blocked it out...and was also Penn State's homecoming.

I'll be at the game at Indiana this year...and every other year after now as long as I live here. So, if you want to meet up with a UM fan in Bloomington, hit me up.

Nice! You've got nicer seats than I do. I'm in section 13, which is on the corner, maybe in the student section? I don't know exactly where the student section is...if there is one.

My girlfriend got two season tickets for $60 each with her Alumni discount though, so I can't complain too much lol.

Past:

  • 2013 Michigan State
  • 2014 Notre Dame
  • 2014 Michigan State
  • 2014 Ohio State

Future:

  • 2015 Maryland
  • 2015 Penn State

Guys...it's been a bad last few away games lol, I'm at 0-4. Need to win at least one of the two I'm going to this year; not too worried about Maryland.

For basketball, I've been to the 2013 and 2014 Big Ten Tournaments (first in Chicago, second in Indy). The first year I didn't arrive until Friday, so I missed us beat Penn State, but then saw us lose to Wisconsin. The second year I saw us beat Illinois and Ohio State (one of best games I've attended. It's crazy to have a stadium with near equal proportions of UM and OSU fans, so it felt like a cheering battle every bucket), but then lose to MSU in the final (ughhhh).

So I'm 2-2 for basketball neutral site games.

This basketball season I will likely be going to Madison for our game against Wisconsin (lots of Badgers in my family) and I'm going to try my hardest to make it to Columbus. The Big Ten Tournament has become somewhat of a tradition for my family since we moved back to the Midwest, so that's possible again as well (last year I stayed behind because we weren't doing so hot and March is midterm month).

2007 NW

2009 Illinois (Roundtree was tackled from behind at the 1, we turned it over on downs at the goal line and Illinois promptly drove 99 yards for a TD. I knew we were done for after that).  That was the most upset I have been at a sporting event and it's not even close.

2011 NW

There aren't many B1G stadiums/locations within driving distance from Grand Rapids that really appeal to me.  Purdue, Indiana, Staee? No thanks.  Penn State would be cool, maybe I can go when I'm not dirt poor.

In the 1980's - Notre Dame (win), Purdue (win), State (win), Illinois (tie) nothing other than the Sugar Bowl a couple of years ago since then. May go with my son to some in the next few years.
