OT - Where were you 10 years ago today?
10 years ago today we were celebrating the new millennium. So where was everyone?
I spent new years eve at Disney World's Epcot theme park with two friends. Not old enough to drink at the bars yet so it was a good substitute. Got up the next morning and we drove down to Miami for the Orange Bowl and saw Michigan beat Alabama in overtime. Still one of my favorite trips.
What about everyone else?

Drinking at a house party. We weren't old enough so my friend's girlfriend had to buy for like 10 of us that were going to the party.

easy on the "beamer's face" thing, guy got caught in a gasoline fire when he was 7. he has had lots of work to get where he is. probably took enough crap as a kid.

No joke, I was constipated for a good three or four days until New Years Eve and missed the ball drop due to the fact that I was on the toilet having my first bowel movement in days. Sorry that is TMI but it is my most memorable New Year.

We had an apt on the 55th floor of a 61 floor building at North Pier overlooking Burnham Harbor and Chicago's NYE fireworks display. We had a HUGE party that went through 7 cases of Champagne and was still going strong when we ran out of booze at 2:30 AM. We ended up going out to a bar (stuffed 8 people/cab) and continued partying until they kicked us out and closed a few hours later. Some guy was trying to buy drinks for my wife and she kept passing them down the bar to me where I downed them and passed the empty glass back. Rumor has it I ended up dancing shirtless on top of a table. Great times.......!
Tonight I am in the lobby of the AZ Biltmore resort drinking champagne and cognac......

Deep Creek Lake near Wisp Ski Resort - funny since I now live in Maryland and 10 years ago I would have given you a 0% chance of that being the case. That drive down from A2 was hellish as I recall. Snow everywhere and cold as a witches tit. My beautiful future fiancee/wife provided good company as I recall.

After watching some VHS tapes of Arthur the Aardvark and my mom making me and my friends juice and cookies, it was time to bust out the Super NES and work our magic through a few levels of Super Mario RPG. The 'rents came in to put the sleepover to bed, but we sneaked outside to watch the fireworks...

I drove from Cleveland to Toronto to see The Tragically Hip at the Air Canada Center
Watched the Orange Bowl at Gretzkey's Bar in Toronto the next night.

But I was at home getting ready for the game, the last bowl trip I missed. The whole millenium craziness had jacked up prices to and in Miami to ridiculous levels, so I passed. Also Goss's Athletic Department era had gotten ridiculously cheap as he mismanaged the finances, so they weren't taking a lot of the people I know who usually go, so, eh.

The wife and I slept in late. All I can remember about 2000 was, I made a lot more money then, and there were no kids in my house. I remember the game but none of the details, sad sad existance.

The former Pro Player Stadium (formerly Joe Robbie Stadium), wearing an orange Michigan shirt and witnessing a great BCS bowl win. Brady and Terrell couldn't be stopped.
...after driving back the same day from a week in Key West with my future wife. A great end to the millennium!

the Medical Electronics field. My whole company
was on call due to the Y2K scare. After everyone
figured we weren't going into meltdown, about 12:01,
I could finally get started with the festivities.

Slept it off, then woke up to watch Lloyd run the ball into a brick wall for half a game, only to come to his senses and unleash Tommy Brady's arm, throwing 52 times to swing a W when 'Bama's kicker shanked the PAT in OT.

Up in the Leelenau Peninsula, about 20 miles west of Traverse City. Had a fireplace suite with my new wife. Watched the first half of the Orange Bowl in the jacuzzi, covered in soap bubbles. Watched the 2nd half (and OT) in bed with my bride asleep in my arms. No kids yet. Good times, indeed...
