Happy New Year, MGoBlog! What are your plans tonight?
Normally I would be at some warmer bowl-type-substance destination (or at least warmer than here...some of these bowl sites this year are not looking like beach weather), so I'm probably having a quiet bad economy old man New Year's Eve. So if I can live vicariously though some youthful fun that doesn't involve a Michigan game tomorrow, let's hear it.
What are you doing, tonight, tomorrow, or this weekend?
Happy New Year all! May 2010 be better for all the Wolverines than 2009 was.

Wines! It's cold here, by the way. About to ditch the Michigan basketball game to drink the wines.
December 31st, 2009 at 1:23 PM ^
Drink massive amounts of Bacardi n Diet. Have champagne/sparkling wine at midnight. Wake up early and watch football. Same routine for 9 years now.

Wishing I were in Ann Arbor
December 31st, 2009 at 2:45 PM ^
It's a wet 34 degrees here...
But I appreciate the sentiment.
"If only in my dreams..."
December 31st, 2009 at 2:53 PM ^
as well.
December 31st, 2009 at 3:29 PM ^
I already shovelled.
December 31st, 2009 at 3:30 PM ^
Most of Ann Arbor is closed down on New Years, no students. We went out to the Jug last year, showed up and found it locked and dark. A bar closed on New Years!
The townie district is up and running though. My girlfriend is overseas and I worked all week. I think I'm going to be boring tonight.
January 1st, 2010 at 3:32 AM ^
Balls deep. Wherever I go in the world, I am always wishing I was in Ann Arbor. Happy New YEAR!!!!!
December 31st, 2009 at 1:36 PM ^
Probably kill a bum if Michigan loses to IU.
December 31st, 2009 at 1:45 PM ^
Hate crimes are not a joke.
December 31st, 2009 at 1:57 PM ^
if we can't even enjoy a joke about murdering homeless people anymore. All crimes are hate crimes anyway.
December 31st, 2009 at 2:46 PM ^
At least the hookers are safe...
December 31st, 2009 at 3:07 PM ^
my friend! They're gonna have to outrun the bums 1st.
December 31st, 2009 at 3:31 PM ^
...just faster than the slowest person you're with...
December 31st, 2009 at 4:15 PM ^
If there are two bears, you need to be faster than two fellow runners.
December 31st, 2009 at 8:19 PM ^
Yes, but if we carry that forth to 2 hookers, that's a good thing.
December 31st, 2009 at 1:37 PM ^
Columbus, but the party's host just backed out on us (untrustworthy osu fans). So now I must brave the night life of Cincinnati in my pursuit of blackout. Its all well and good though because even though I have lived most of my life in Cbus im scared for my life everytime I wear M gear and now that Cincinnati is doing well everyone down here hates OSU.

Another reason to root for the bearcats in the suger bowl
December 31st, 2009 at 3:35 PM ^
There was a post here with YouTube links to a radio station in Cinncy's promo bumps, and I sent it to a Wolverine friend down there, and he played it for his co-workers, much to the chagrin of the one Buckeye.
December 31st, 2009 at 1:51 PM ^
Tanqueray + Sierra Mist Free, and probably 40s of Bud Light, too, because that's how we roll. 3
Happy New Year, MGoBlog! Love you guys!
December 31st, 2009 at 1:59 PM ^
from a 40 oz. I feel indebted to Olde English for giving me my first drunkenness.
December 31st, 2009 at 2:07 PM ^
That's awesome! Tell ya what, we'll totally get some 40s of Olde English to honor first drunkenness experiences in general.
Cheers!
December 31st, 2009 at 1:53 PM ^
like Colin Farrell on a dare.
December 31st, 2009 at 2:00 PM ^
Normally not a big drinker but after this Indiana game, I might be. Probably just watching bowl games and movies with some of my good friends.
December 31st, 2009 at 2:03 PM ^
I have to travel early tomorrow, so I'll be taking it easy with a few friends and some cheapish wine.
December 31st, 2009 at 2:03 PM ^
Hanging out with some friends at Good Time Charley's.
December 31st, 2009 at 2:15 PM ^
Underage, but hey you never know

Celebrating the end of this awful decade of Michigan Sports.
December 31st, 2009 at 3:45 PM ^
Yeah, mostly downhill from there.
December 31st, 2009 at 7:24 PM ^
when they missed an extra point; what a freakish way to win a game. A win is a win, but perhaps the football gods, knowing what they had in store for M the remainder of the decade, gave the Maize and Blue a morsel of hope to tantalize us, before snatching Henson away.
December 31st, 2009 at 2:31 PM ^
Hopcat for dinner/pregaming followed by the BOB for the rest of the night unless I hear something great about the downtown celebration. (Grand Rapids)
December 31st, 2009 at 2:33 PM ^
Get absolutely shitfaced, so that hopefully when I wake up tomorrow I can't recall the last 2 years of Michigan football
December 31st, 2009 at 2:34 PM ^
Sex, but my wife probably has other plans. As usual.
December 31st, 2009 at 2:48 PM ^
Kidding. I feel your pain.
December 31st, 2009 at 4:52 PM ^
I've found comments like "Let's welcome 2010 with a bang" to not be helpful in the endeavor.
December 31st, 2009 at 2:34 PM ^
downtown Grand Rapids to watch the ball drop
December 31st, 2009 at 2:44 PM ^
That place is packed. I was going to go but wouldn't be worth it.
December 31st, 2009 at 2:47 PM ^
I heard it was not very fun last year, but I suppose it could have improved.
December 31st, 2009 at 3:04 PM ^
Sounds like it could be fun.
December 31st, 2009 at 3:14 PM ^
Yeah a few concerts like Boys Like Girls, Uncle Cracker, etc.
December 31st, 2009 at 3:17 PM ^
Uncle Kracker? They are still alive?
December 31st, 2009 at 2:51 PM ^
If we were 7-5 and I was on the Riverwalk right now, instead of worrying that all this Texas Tech chaos is giving MSU a chance, I'd be glorying over the heavily favored squad imploding before our bowl game. Ugh.
December 31st, 2009 at 2:52 PM ^
like its 1997.
December 31st, 2009 at 2:53 PM ^
All my friends and I get together with our wives and kids on New Years Eve and hang out because we always get wasted on New Years Day watching Michigan play. It has been sad the past two years so we just drank away our sorrow but here's to seeing them on New Years Day next year! Cheers to you all and have a safe New Years Eve!
December 31st, 2009 at 3:05 PM ^
Working till 8pm today and back to work sometime on the 1st. The kids will try and stay up and watch the televised festivites, that will end with me carring them up to their rooms. An adult type beverage or two will be consumed and maybe I can get the wife to drink a few.
December 31st, 2009 at 3:09 PM ^
I'm off to a friend's place for some pregame festivities - then off to the bar.
Be safe out there people.
December 31st, 2009 at 3:47 PM ^
+1, keep your heads on a swivel on those roads.
December 31st, 2009 at 3:50 PM ^
In all seriousness, though, maybe go downtown and watch the ball drop in GR, otherwise hit up a house party and get shitty.
December 31st, 2009 at 4:25 PM ^
Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Thursday evening, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time since the stores close early for the holiday.
