Wow. Big pickup for the Seminoles. The Meyer announcement looks like it's beginning to hurt recruiting.

Thats one recruit who saw through Meyer's "leave of absence"

Luc, Joyner, and Elam? Guess you need an octogenarian head coach to reel in top defensive classes. See also State, Penn.

We'll see how FSU plays in the next few years. They've always had stellar players from its backyard, but haven't produced on the field. Will FSU be back? We'll see.

that after catching balls from Devin Gardner today, 6'4" LSU recruit Justin Hunter switched commitments to M?
Just kidding, but c'mon, how could you not want to play with DG?!

Good get for the Noles. They are building a monster class of late. Hopefully they can start beating Florida again.

I'm wondering if FSU is starting to put it together. They have their head coach, a very good defensive coordinator coming in, a great offense, and now building a terrific recruiting class.
Maybe we will see them return to prominence once more?

Seems like everyone who has committed to FSU recently believes that they're "really back" and has said that in some way or another. I guess Jimbo's really got them believing.

Jimbo is a maven.

im begining to think the tables are begining to turn in FL. Watch out for FSU

Thank God, too. I grow tired of the Gators.

Jimbo Fisher has been at FSU prior to this year. It's not like he's an outsider coming in. FSU has been a shell of its former self for the past few years, and I don't expect that to change by promoting from within.
I could be wrong, obviously, but when you're program's going downhill, you don't give a current assistant coach the head coaching job. You only promote from within if you have a winning team and the head coach moves to a better job or retires.

Just saw on ESPN that Florida RB commit Mack Brown said that Urban Meyer will return to the team in August
December 31st, 2009 at 2:50 PM ^
Herbstreit report it. He always has his finger on the pulse of coaching information.

Herby mentioned he said something along the lines of "he will be back in some capacity in August." He's leading the recruits to believe whatever they want, but I'm still not entirely sure he means head coach.

Glad to hear that FSU may turn the corner...I am perfectly fine with playing them for the MNC in 2011.
