Jake Long- Pro Bowl starter!
In what should be the first start of many consecutive ones (as tends to happen with elite OL in the NFL), Jake Long will start at Tackle for the AFC this year, opposite Ryan Clady. No doubt he has already established himself as one of, if not THE, premier OT in the league.

Come on now, don't downgrade the U. We are a factory for most positions. It would be way too much work, but I think it would be interesting to see which university has produced the most pro-bowlers. I think Michigan would be way up there. I can't think of anyone who is LB/DL, but M could come pretty close to fielding a pro-bowler at each position.

I always hated the term "Michigander." I'm a Michiganian. Or even a Michiganite. But never a "Michigander."
FWIW, the Freep uses "Michigander."

Love it or hate it, people from Michigan are Michiganders. When I hear someone say "Michiganian" it makes me think they don't know much about my state.
Michiganite sounds like a type of rock or an icicle-like rock formation on the floor of a cave.

"Michigander" had a negative connotation at one time, so "Michiganian" might be better.

has yet mentioned "Michigines." Maybe it was defiance, but I only ever heard the term "Michiganders" growing up; I never knew (until now) there was an alternative. BTW, if UP folk get to be "Yoopers" (per Wiki), can Ann Arborealists call ourselves "Elpers?"

However, Cass Tech is named after the original "Michigander," so it's not like the word was derived from insulting an insignificant moron. I don't think a campaign to stop the use of the word would get too far, either.

-- Pretty cool that Henne, Long, Woodley, Edwards, Hall, Breaston, and Harris are all productive starters in the NFL. I know there are even more from that four year span, but those guys are the ones who stick out in my mind... Anyhoo, it is great to see them doing so well at the next level. Here's to starting a whole new NFL train that produces ninjas instead of giants.

D Warren...he will be good in the NFL. Maybe not right away but he will be fine in a couple of years. Leon Hall started slow too but he is looking very good now.
